Immigration - February 2007

[Selected]: All categories Politics & Government Immigration

When my sister & I were growing up someone from the government told my sister that they would deport her. We are legally Americans, born & raised here as was all are family before us. What gives the government the right to threaten a child like that?

illegal immigrants are from all over the world but why does the big problem lye in illegal mexicans?

i have never seen Chinese, Arab, English, etc illegal immigants raise hell as much as Mexicans do. I have also never seen Arab, Chinese etc illegal immigrants have babies as much as Mexicans for the sole purpose of staying in the US and if they do, they are married. I was a social service worker and i never seen them in my office requesting public assistance as much as Mexicans. They dont protest in streets for equal rights and they seem more motivated to become legal citizens and they create businesses fror themselves. They do not mandate for americans to learn their language by demanding their language translation on every food product and translators in every bank. It seems as though immigrants other than Mexicans appreciate American life and actually want to try to become legal. They dont complain or want to drain america's resources.

why is this?

would you approve of illegals going to fight over there?

I know some people have said they don't think illegals can be trusted because we run away from our problems, but what if you really needed us?

would you rather have an American draft or an illegal draft?

I came to Canada in April 2002 with my family and parents who were already landed immigrants. My mother got ill and was diagnosed as a case of cancer of liver. As it was a fatal illness we honored her wish to go back to Pakistan and I went with her. She died there and I came back to Canada after 2months and in this hard circumstances, I lost my landing papers. I paid the fee and got the copy of these papers. My wife and children got citizenship about 1 year ago but I have not been called even for the test of citizenship.
I called immigration office but they say that I should wait and my file was still in process. Whether this delay is due to lost landing papers, I don't know. What should I do? One year is lot of time to wait.
thanks for the help

i was asked to sign a petition to release an albanian immigrant from jail.
i was told he was in peper process, but he didn't send a form in time and one day immigration arrested him. he has been in jail for 5 months.i was told he didn't commite any crime.
i always knew if you are illigal you get deported and that's it, you don't spend time in prison unless you have criminal charges against you..
AM I WRONG?? do illigal spend months in jail just because of their immigration status???

Can this be a role model for germany?
There, if you want to immigrate, you have to pass a bunch of psych. and knowledge and constitution conformity tests ? (even many germans wouldn´t pass this :) )

What is better? What is worse?

I assert post-1945 non-Caucasian immigrants have had more negative impact than positive and this is empirically & statistically qualified. Can anyone possibly argue a case for continued coloured destruction of our nation?

i am doin biotech at a university here in australia. my visa is expiring on 15th march. i had a research project of around 9 months which i finished and submitted my thesis in time on 6th december. i did my best to make sure i get my results in time. i jst got to know last week that my supervisor has nominated the examiners jst 2 weeks back and it is goin to take another 2-3 months atleast before I get my results. The immigration dept. is unwilling to extend my visa. i dont know what to do. According to my thinking, It is university's fault that they are not being able to give me the results in time. I am depressed because of this issue. Would anyone know on how to go by getting this issue resolved? any legal advices? thanks a lot.

I got married in 2002. In March 2003, I went for interview, and the officer told me he had to check with his supervisor if I had to find another sponsor since my husband income was not enough to support me. Since then I have heard nothing. Immigration says it is FBI process... but maybe my husband stopped the process because he was upset with me?

BNP supporters want to get rid of parents of babies born in the UK but who's parents were not born here - even though they pay taxes and contribute towards the economy . . . are they family breakers, or do they just want to get rid of everyone anyone who is non white?

not to disciminate against them, but why are they getting all the jobs. if they don't like the country their in, then they need to make a stand to have some changes made. then not only do they get all the jobs they bring about 15 relatives and 7-8 children too. every time you turn around their pregnant. now were having to learn a new language to accomodate them. i don't want to be thought of as racist, but their should be some kind of limitation to crossing the border and working illegally not to mention the medical and financial support their taking away from the hard working americans everyday.
