would you approve of illegals going to fight over there?

I know some people have said they don't think illegals can be trusted because we run away from our problems, but what if you really needed us?

would you rather have an American draft or an illegal draft?

If a force in Iraq could defeat 80% of our forces then we would be defeated in Iraq. Drafting more people to send over there would be sending people on suicide missions.

The only thing I can think of that could kill that many of our soldiers would be a nuclear attack. Sending more soldiers into an arena like that would not be a great idea. The US would probably shift focus to more attacks from the air. For this, you need people who have had years of training.

In any event, I do not support the idea of capturing illegal aliens and making them go to war. You are guaranteed that these people will not make good soldiers. They would have more interest in getting back to their home country or at least away from the military. This would be their #1 focus. These people would probably surrender in mass numbers if they thought the enemy would take pity on their situation. It is also quite possible that enemy forces would capitalize on this situation and be merciful to captured soldiers who were illegal aliens forced into slavery. This would make the fighting illegals a untrustworthy fighting force.

Also, you are not considering the diplomatic ramifications of this. These people are in the US illegally, yet they still have citizenship in their home country. That country would be very upset with the US for forcing these non-US citizens to fight for the US. That would also be viewed very badly by the rest of the world. We would lose allies with this strategy.

Now, if you want to try to build a volunteer army with illegal aliens, that might be viewed differently. However, I do not think you would have too much luck getting these people to fight.

Another consideration is, how many of these people are physically and mentally capable of dealing with combat. Not all US citizens are capable of dealing with combat. Only a percentage of the illegal aliens would be capable of fighting.

Only Americans loyal to the United States should defend the USA. Illegals are not worthy of that honor, because they are invaders. If they want to fight, they must respect US laws first by becoming citizens, and assimilating to American culture.

If there was a draft, I would rather every eligible member of my American family be drafted, before they sent over illegals.

I don't want any one from any country that holds allegiance to another country or to its people defending the USA.
I read a question a little while ago that said that the Border Patrol agents were traitors because they are Hispanic and shot a Hispanic drug smuggler. Traitors to what country ? Mexico ? They are Americans,their loyalty is where it should be.. to America.
Its that kind of twisted thinking that would get you a loud no from me.
Id rather have all the illegal aliens back in their own country's.An American draft is wiser to me than a draft of an illegal alien that does

Actually the best thing would be is to get this Iraqi mess finished,bring our troops home and place them armed to secure our border.

Gore as POTUS in 2000 with big city vote and 8? of 50 states would have decided that 9/11 was a lawyer deal and done little or nothing. We would STILL be shot at except with expensive Chinese/North Korean missles that sometimes HIT. We would NOT be landmining all the borders as that would be effective and Al Qaeda would be forced to use the checkpoints which are OPEN for NO apparent reason into a WAR ZONE where relatives have no business attending funerals from Syria, grabbing a gun and murdering somebody. I think we should only have in our army people who are loyal to our country first. If the illegals are that, let them in the army and give them citizenship. If they aren't loyal to the US, I don't want them in the army at all.
