You can get a tax I.D. number - which is not legal for employment - but is legal for opening a bank account or stock brokerage account. If you have income over a minimum amount, you are supposed to file an income tax return - and you are required to use such a number on the return. I don't believe it is a crime to be an illegal alien, unless you have been deported and return to the U.S.

First of all, start telling the truth.
There is no such thing as a 10 year tourist visa.
USA tourist visa is for a limited short visit.
A tourist is a visitor, not part of the workforce.
After 7 years in the USA, on a tourist visa, which has obvously long since expired, you are now an illegal alien.
USA social security cards are issued ONLY to legal US citizens.
You cannot buy one, you cannot make up a number, you cannot "borrow" one, you cannot use any social security number which was not legally obtained with your legal birth certificate.
You cannot obtain a US social a security number with false ID or false information, or by lying. If you get a number by any means other than with a legal birth certificate, you are using a STOLEN social security number, which is a felony.
The penalty for use of a STOLEN social security number is 25 years in federal prison and a $250,000.00 (two hundred and fifty thousand dollar) fine, followed by deportation. If you commit that felony and are deported, you will never be granted any visa to the USA again, you will never be allowed to immigrate to the USA illegally once deported, you will never be allowed to become a US citizen in the future.
Your best bet is to return to your own country as soon as possible.
Once there apply to immigrate to the USA legally.
When you have immigrated legally to the USA, you can then take steps to become a legal US citizen.
As a legal US citizen you can apply for a legal social security card and become legally employed in the United States.
As an illegal alien right now, you are subject to arrest and deportation at any time.
If you are deported you will never be able to return to the USA and become a legal US citizen or to get a legal social security card.
You had best start packing for your return to your homeland.
Bon voyage.

If it is a tourist visa then you dont have the right to work which means there is no need for them to issue you a SS card I find a 10 year tourist visa very unlikely to be granted.

If ur here on tourist visa, then u are not really a permanent resident of US, just simply a visitor. Since you are only a visitor, you are not entitled to a social security number....

Just steal one, thats what immigrants usually do. You must have a fake nyumber now if you worked at all. Otherwise, you need to become a citizen. But why bother, this way you can just stay here, work and no one will know unless you commit a crime other then Idenity theft.
