I'm confused as to why it would make it easier for them to move here? Surely it would just be the same process even if they weren't part of the Eu?
I'd really appreciate it if someone could help, it would help me for my geography DME exam.

Thanks x

Is it a deliberate distortion of the facts?

from the Tucson paper yesterday...

"Armed men who prompted National Guard soldiers to leave an observation post near the Mexican border came within 100 yards of the troops, but apparently were unaware of the Guard members, authorities said Friday.
"There were no shots fired, no attacks, no overrunning of the National Guardsmen" or any contact with the group, Martinez said.

"Maj. Paul Aguirre, spokesman for the Arizona National Guard, said those team members always carry arms for self-defense.
"There was no harm done to any of the personnel or the site," Aguirre said.
Martinez also said the soldiers did not report seeing the men carrying anything that might be contraband"

Do you think it was no big deal or was it indicative of something bigger? Did local media oversensationalize with a "bleed it leads" mentality or is this is the start of worse things to come?

Please keep your answers respectful but truthful.

In May 2006 the Senate voted to allow illegal aliens to collect Social Security benefits based on past illegal employment -- even if the job was obtained through forged or stolen documents.

if they get amnesty ? Whats your take on this? Is it a good or a bad thing ?
An agreement the Bush administration reached with Mexico on Social Security benefits would allow illegal aliens granted amnesty in the future to claim credit for the time they worked illegally.

The deal was reached in 2004 but never released publicly because it hasn't been submitted to Congress. The TREA Senior Citizens League, a Social Security advocacy group, recently obtained the document through a Freedom of Information Act, and said it confirms the group's worst fears.

I keep saying political correctness will be the downfall of America. Yet some are so blindsided they just insult. I truly hope some of you will look at this and literally see where this is leading our Country. Some of you already feel the same way I do and thank goodness you do. Why is it so hard for some people to truly see how badly this is affecting America???

If they have a social security number haven't they broken another law? The law against stealing identities? Can some one explain to me how this is done with out breaking the law?

On the news, that is ALL people have been talking about. I feel that immigrants (NOT illegal aliens, because that is racist) that have been for over like 2 or 3 years, have no bad history in Mexico, or wherever they are from, AND the USA! They should have to have been paying their taxes. AND to make sure no more illegal immigrants come, they SHOULD secure the border, and just give citizenship to the people that have been here like normal Americans, doing jobs, paying taxes, taking care of their children, and doing what any American citizens do. Who agrees with me, and who doesn't? I would like to hear your opinions...

I was already aware of the situation but there seems to be a mass movement of africans into southern european countries. Tourist spots in the med are being overrun by these rowing boats turning up with 100's of people. Who are trying to get to spain or italy. I like to think weve done pretty well for ourselves here in europe (even though im not a big fan of this EU thing), but it seems the africans see what we have and they want it. Can europe deal with africa moving over here. Feel free to tell me im wrong!

to many latina spouses are denied the right to immigrate, while if you are latino and wish to come here to work just to earn money you are viewed as a boosting factor to the U.S Economy if you came illegal thats good because then you have no rights like a slave, and what the government tells the public about the immigration process is not how it really works if you are latino involved in that process of trying to come here,if your american and you marry a latina what you find out is the immigration sevice will make you wait and wait for some times 3 years or more just to be with the wife you have, most marriages can't go through that type of stress and i am very sure thats why they do it, so why is the government permited to distroy a otherwise perfect marriage, after the so called back ground check is finished shouldn't that be a long enough waiting time, what is the point to the extra years of waiting anyway? who is in control us, or the government , thier working for us right??
