Not only a sad day but the wrong message. http://cfif.org/htdocs/archives/CFIFCompean5NewsMax.html
I keep saying political correctness will be the downfall of America. Yet some are so blindsided they just insult. I truly hope some of you will look at this and literally see where this is leading our Country. Some of you already feel the same way I do and thank goodness you do. Why is it so hard for some people to truly see how badly this is affecting America???

maestro, to you and other liberals it's not a legitimate website, to logical people, it is.
Who the heck is the prosecutor to tell them they didn't see something shiny? So, we just tie our border agents hands and let the illegals do what the hell they want. That's what this is.

lamplighter, The border patrol agents did NOT report it because they didn't realize they hit him. HE KEPT RUNNING!! Some of you apparently are just spewing words out without reading the links. We CAN'T fight the drug war as long as we let ILLEGAL DRUG RUNNERS DO WHAT THEY WANT. We CANNOT win any wars as long as common sense is gone or political correctness is rampant. We CAN'T win any wars when our brave men and women that fight to protect us are arrested for protecting us. From our Troops to Police Officers to Border Patrol Agents. Wake up people!!!!

kaligirl, wake up. Our elected officials are doing nothing about immigration, so our brave men and women have do to that job. I did forget to mention every day citizens that have to fight this horrible mess every day!! To say the problem is our government only and not immigration is totally ignorant. the ILLEGAL immigrants have no regards whatsoever to our laws. What gall they have. I would not want to go to a Country where I am NOT wanted. I would have enough common sense to change my own country, not someone elses.

chee,
If anyone in my family was a criminal and a drug dealer, I would not expect nice treatment for them. You are so wrong and have misjudged me. The freakin mexican drug dealer criminal should be behind bars, not the very men that are protecting the very people that are against them.
It is a sad day when this can happen.

No, the main up-tp-date pollfrom Gallup confirmed that basically 4% of human beings think of recent gun administration law is a suited priority , maximum human beings of folk elect action on the economic equipment, unemployment, job creation, debit, deficit, well being care and so on. until now attending to new gun administration law hence even with the liberal media hype on back floor exams and ninety% approval, it would not look the polls particularly in rural professional-gun states that vote casting against new gun administration regulation will make certain the race vs. addressing the different concerns that are an more desirable priory for the common American will additionally the president circulate after those democrat senators who voted against the invoice in 2014 who're up for re-election? Or will he supply them a bypass and help them collectively as going after the republicans basically?

First of all, I am against illegal aliens because it is illegal.
The reason we don't fire upon illegal aliens as they cross the border, is because it is against the law. Not just US law, but international laws, and the pacts that govern our borders between Mexico and the US.
If we break these laws, we could actually increase hostilities between the US and Mexico. They could start killing our LEGAL immigrants. With Mexico practically being a dictatorship, ticking them off is the wrong thing to do. We are in TWO wars right now, would you like to be in THREE?
No, I don't like illegals, drug dealers, smugglers, thieves, gangsters coming across our borders. But the border patrolmen BROKE THE LAW. It's that simple.

If an unarmed person is suspected of a crime, and runs away from a law enforcement official, that official does not have the option of shooting them in the back...just because they're pretty darned sure that the person is guilty of 'something'.
And to make matters worse, the two officials you're talking about, tried to cover this whole matter up.
"In response to misstatements and misinformation being reported in the media regarding the prosecution of Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean, relating to a shooting that occurred while they were on duty as U.S. Border Patrol agents on February 17, 2005, the United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Texas releases this advisory summarizing the evidence presented at defendants' trial.
As will be demonstrated by the summary below, the defendants were prosecuted because they had fired their weapons at a man who had attempted to surrender by holding his open hands in the air, at which time Agent Compean attempted to hit the man with the butt of Compean's shotgun, causing the man to run in fear of what the agents would do to him next.
Although both agents saw that the man was not armed, the agents fired at least 15 rounds at him while he was running away from them, hitting him once."
"The evidence was un-controverted that, at the time the victim was shot, neither agent knew whether the driver was illegally in the United States or whether a crime had been committed. The only information they had was that the driver had failed to pull over to be identified."
http://www.kvia.com/Global/story.asp?S=5356653
And 'even' if these border officials believed that they hadn't hit the person who ran away, there is absolutely no excuse for not reporting it. They had attempted to kill the man. They were legally bound to report the matter.
AND there's no "common sense" in trying to maim or kill everyone who is suspected of a crime.

While i can see pretty plainly that they were wrong in their actions (a conservative viewpoint, not a liberal one) I find fault that Bush pardoned 15 drug dealers, but not them! (that is the liberal viewpoint)
The poster needs to re-examine their ideology of liberal and conservative, like many posters on here, they are getting the two confused!

I cannot believe the amount of illegals standing outside a 7-11 looking to be picked up for work here in Arizona. Some people cannot see what is going on in front of their own eyes.

The page was so full of loaded words it made me want to puke. It was the worst case of one sided tripe I have ever seen.
A law enforcement officer not reporting using a fire arm is NOT a 5 day offense, that is utter nonsense, and I have not often heard of Texans being accused of being flaming Liberals by any means.
It could have been a complete miscarraige of justice, it could have been something entirely different. If you think you got the full story from that site you are crazy.
I will give you this: If that site got all its facts straight, then yes, it is a huge problem. I just seriously doubt it did.

No it isn't. They were convicted and are where they belong. If it were any one of your brothers, sons or cousins shot in the back there would be a whole different take on it.

You're saying it yourself. Our own government is not doing anything, so maybe the problem is not always immigration, but with the government instead.
