Is it a deliberate distortion of the facts?
from the Tucson paper yesterday...
"Armed men who prompted National Guard soldiers to leave an observation post near the Mexican border came within 100 yards of the troops, but apparently were unaware of the Guard members, authorities said Friday.
"There were no shots fired, no attacks, no overrunning of the National Guardsmen" or any contact with the group, Martinez said.
"Maj. Paul Aguirre, spokesman for the Arizona National Guard, said those team members always carry arms for self-defense.
"There was no harm done to any of the personnel or the site," Aguirre said.
Martinez also said the soldiers did not report seeing the men carrying anything that might be contraband"

All kinds of garbage tactics get used to paint as negative a picture as possible by the antis. The story (all over YA yesterday) about border-guards being "overrun" was one example. Anything that the antis think they can use to defame and marginalize illegals, as a group, they use.
Of course, what they end up doing most often is making themselves look like morons, such as is the case with this story.

But they DID have weapons and WERE on our side, as far as our guard posts, right?
In one paper it said the Border Patrol wouldn't say if there had been shots and kind of implied that meant there probably had been shots. I suspect that is where people got the idea that it was a 'shoot out.'

Wasn't a shoot out, but it also wasn't friendly.....
Gunmen Attack National Guard Border Patrol Site in Arizona
"TUCSON, Ariz. — National Guard troops working at an observatory post near the Mexican border were forced to flee after being approached by a group of armed individuals, authorities said.
The event occurred about 11 p.m. Wednesday at one of the National Guard entrance identification team posts near Sasabe, said National Guard Sgt. Edward Balaban.
He said the troops withdrew safely, no shots were fired and no one suffered injuries.
U.S. Border Patrol officials are investigating the incident and trying to determine who the armed people were, what they were doing and why they approached the post before retreating to Mexico."
Usually armed people mean business............ especially if they are crossing into another nation WITHOUT PERMISSION!!!
For those of you who think it is close minded to know the truth I DARE YOU TO TYPE INTO YOUR SEARCH BAR "border incursions on mexican border" and see what you come up with.........then come back and tell me I am close minded.
(face the facts these incursions happen to try and deny that fact and call those of us who know the truth is pretty much making yourself look bad and uninformed)
~add on~ right "unknowingly" what about the other times were those unknowingly also???? lmao

You should know better than to listen to the media. You make it seem like this is the only border patrol problem America has ever seen? Why dont you admit there is a problem, even our government will admit that. Heres a link for example http://www.usborderpatrol.com/borderframe1300.htm
