I am a Canadian citizen and am looking to get married with a Brazilian. The idea is for her to move here (Canada). I know the process takes time and have already looked into the paperwork. What I haven't managed to figure out is if it's better for her to come here and get married here, or if it's better to get married in Brazil, or if it doesn't make a difference. Also, I know the process is lengthy, but is there any special visa that she can come to Canada on in the meantime, or would I just apply for a regular tourist visa or something like that? Thanks in advance for any help.

Rice's Iran Strategy Fizzles, Cheney Waits in Wings

by Gareth Porter
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's months-long diplomatic effort to get five other powers to agree to a tough United Nations Security Council resolution on sanctions against Iran now seems certain to fail, because of Russian and Chinese resistance.
Last month, the Europeans circulated a draft that would have required that countries prevent the sale and supply of a long list of equipment, technology, and financing to all of Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs, including dual-use items and related technologies. It would have required that states "prevent the supply, sale, or transfer" of such technologies, ban travel by Iranian officials connected with either program, and freeze their assets..

I have absolutely no problem with people attempting to become a U.S. citizen the legal way. They pay their dues, take the test and if they pass they are AWARDED citizenship. I am not heartless to those who have a worse life in another country but if you illegally come into America and for a better life then you are breaking the law. I think most people would be ok if only a few people, such as Mexicans, did that but when a whole bunch of people do that time and time again it gets to be insulting. Especially when the government wants to grant the illegals amnesty. From news reports I've heard illegals use somebody else's social security number to gain employment. So, to, are the employers guilty who turn the other cheek. With no law and order there is chaos and anarchy. So when a large group of people band together to get what they want and next to nothing is done about it then maybe every one who is a legal citizen should band together for reasons such as abolishing taxes!

The United States has always been invading weaker countries to explote their resources. You just invaded Afghanistan and Iraq, also you have a long and awful history of messing with Latin American politics, then WHY DO YOU SAY YOU'RE THE ONES BEING INVADED? Latino América is taking action and turning to the left, and your government is too concentrated in the Middle East. We are tired of you gringos having no respect for others!

okay here's the deal....my friend got his 10 yr permanent green card thru marriage..he's been married 4 yrs now...he got his permanent green card 4 months ago...question is ...can he divorce his wife in the next 8 months and would he be able to apply for US citizenship in 5 yrs without any hassle....its not like they are not together ....but its more for tax purposes... they have stepson and considering if they are divorced ..then she can file as head of household with a bigger deduction and he can file as single with normal deduction..anyways his concern is would it effect his chances at citizenship because they want to save some money in taxes....please no stupid answers...an honest and true answer will get 10 points...thank you.

I see on this site people are speaking of him as if he was some devil but wasn't he just trying to help them and himself to a better life. When illegals break laws and come here everyone is quick to say they are just trying to make a living or better their life. Williams was trying to do the same but he is evil according to the illegal supporters.

Especially about illegal immigration and Mexicans. Why do we have to use racist words that dehumanizes people? Does this mean it's okay to pass racial slurs because we are taking out these people's humanity and in turn, it would seem okay to call them names???

Why don't we stop the name calling and deal with the real issues? Our government is the one responsible and yet we're not calling them names.

Obviously if that happens, the person would not do it "legally". I mean he wouldn't have the enough money to do it "legally" Do you agree with this? or do you think the person should stay in his country and live a miserable life?
