Immigration - November 2006

It has been two months since my fiance had her interview at the consulate, all the paperwork was in order, and then she was told to wait. I have no idea what for. It would be easier to have her fly to Mexico and simply walk across the border than to try to do everything legally, and one heck of a lot cheaper too!

My next door neighbour just got out of jail. His mistake? He met a Russian beauty on the Internet, wrote to each other for 5 months. She told him what a good girl she was, never go to bars/night clubs or drink, how great in bed she was, a great cook & that she loved him. He went to her country, married her, filed 4 Visa for her, got her to the US(Virginia), bought her new cloth, gave her money & love. Two months later, she received her G.Card. He came one day from work, she & all her stuff were gone.Next, the cops showed at his door step & arrested him 4 spousal abuse(she scratched herself & reported that he did it). Finally,he was able to proof that he was innocent. The cops are now after her for false report & he filed to the INS about mishab.Fox News, did a report on this subject on how the Russian & Romanian girls use the same trick to gain the G.Card & leave many men in ruined lifes.Find the Sucker, pretend love, get married, get the G.Card, file abuse, bail out, then file 4 divorce

I saw a programme on TV and I find this an interesting, amusing, quirky proposition. Some of the women are gorgeous. Does anyone know the basics of how it works, prices etc. Can I send her back within 30 days and get a refund if it isn't working out?

My wife and I are in the US (different cities) on L1 visas. I would like to change my visa status from L1 to L2, obtain an EAD, and live and work in the same city as she is in. We are both from India. I'd really appreciate if someone can clarify the following questions -
1. Can I change my visa status from L1 to L2 while I am in the US? Or do I have to go back to India, apply for an L2 visa and then come into US?
2. How long does it usually take to get an EAD if you have an L2 visa (the assumption is that I'll not find it difficult to get a job in the US)?
3. If my wife goes back to India (even for a short while), how will that impact my visa status? Will I have to leave the country too?

My mother's father in the U.S who is a citizen is finally going to file for my mother and us(her kids). My question is after the main petition,Biograpchic info,Medical exam forms are filed do we mail all other documents at the same time and the same place for eg. the adjustment of status forms, employeement authorization forms? What I want to know is if she hasn't even gotten a green card yet is it necessarry to mail those two forms in paticular when the petition is being sent off or are those mailed afterwards when she is granted a green card? Also my mother was the one who got the immigration e-kit so is she to fill in her Biographical information and then send the petition to my grandfather whom is filing for her so he can finish the rest?

The legal(yes, legal!) immigration system in this country is broken. While everybody is busy talking about illegals, we, who came here legally (and paying taxes including social security taxes even though we don't get social security benefits) are suffering due to a broken system. It seriously requires some big changes. Do you support it?

i seem that some believe that not matter what we do for ourselves we will be down if someone else doesn't do as we think even if that someone wants to be part of America in the case of the immigrants .

wouldn't we be much better if instead of losing time we try to adapt to current events . it is nobember 2006 and the people of the USA the greatess country of the world have spoken . it is time to recognize what the people want .

Are They Not Doing The Job The Government Want ? Too many politicians ignore the interests of those who elected them. The citizens have the full right to act -- when the politicians fail to represent the interest of those who elected them. What Say You ?
