Does anyone know the law regarding citizenship?... i am irish and my boyfriend is argentinian.... im 5 months pregnant and our baby will be born here in mallorca.... i know the baby will be automatically entitled to irish citizenship....but will it also be a spanish citizen?...and an argentinian citizen?.... how many different countries can 1 person be a citizen of?...do we have to choose 1?
by the way neither my boyfriend or i are spanish citizens although we have lives here for over 5 years

Your child will have the right to Irish citizenship and it should be a formality if you apply for Spanish citizenship for the child as you an EU citizen and have been resident for five years. It is less likely that your child will have a right to Argentine citizenship. In the UK this is certainly the case: any child fathered outside the UK does not have a right to his father's nationality.

It will be a citizen of Ireland. You can only be a citizen of the country you are born in but you can apply for a dual citizenship

regrettably, NOPE. i replaced into born in 1984 as an ooooops new child, the 5th/final new child while my mom replaced into like 40yrs previous at that factor. thinking that she's carried out with teenagers. there is 7yrs hollow between me and my instant sister and 16yrs between me and the eldest brother. My siblings hate me lots till at last now. I don't have been born besides. no person replaced into looking forward to for me. i replaced into merely an oooops infant! =(

you can apply to become a citizen of the republic of britain. president bliar has to have a say on it.
