Immigration - October 2006

This is for my Multicultural psychology class. I need to show how 3 factors: 1. The belief in in-group superiority of White workers; 2. exploitative practices of businesses; and 3. the creation of between group competition for a perceived scarce resource (jobs and land) led to the extreme prejudice against Chinese and Japanese workers who immigrated to this country.

Does Yahoo have a liberal agneda to follow, Do they only want open border beliefs taught to others?

They are removing true facts taken from TV and radio as being a ethnic slur. They are controling true facts for thier own personal agenda and have lost any honest fair exchange of the truth in my opinoin

I have tried to discuss the immigration issue in a Latino Forum and all I get from the anti illegals are answers calling me a "****-ing proillegal activist." Also, they have insulted my country and very few of them actually debate. They claim to be Americans and not wanting anything to do with Latino culture, since it has proven to be "inferior." What's up with this? Americans are actually being more tolerant and open to debate. Also, people who claim to be white Americans participate in those forums and have sort of that same attitude.

How can she become legal without being deported? She is from West Africa. Since being here she has had one daughter that was born here in USA. The baby's father is also from Africa I think and may or not be legal. I am not sure of that since they are not together anymore. I just want to help her out (if I can)

My family and I came here legally from Mexico. We were talking about the immigration situation and how different groups view it differently. For example, rich people mostly see illegals as hard workers and victims since the only contact they have with them is hiring them as maids, gardeners, etc. Latinos with relatives and friends from Mexico illegally or still in Mexico sympathize with illegals purely for emotional reasons (they dont want to see their friends leave). On the other side, people in the poor and middle class who work with illegals and/or live in the same neighborhood with them, see the consequences of illegals on a daily basis, have their wages lowered, crime rate increased, and feel that if they say anything negative they will be called a "racist".

Basically, the only amnesty supporters are a. those who are uninformed, and b. relatives/friends of illegals or even c. people racist against whites. What do you think?

This question has been really bothering me lately. I am an American who adores England. Someday, I plan on moving there and becoming a citizen there because I think I am more English than American. I certainly act more British. Are you considered a traitor if you are an American who decides that she just doesn't fit into America and decides to become a British citizen?

and start living with tehem since they got all that room and they talk kind of funny. One reason we can't immigrate to mexico is probably because its a small country, but we have room here? Instead of spending 4 billion a day on war, how about we build more schools and hospitals? because theres more money in killing than saving

Well, my actual question is, what's going on with the government issues in America? November is coming up, so that means voting time... Anyone have a clue on what's going on? Are they going to issue greencards to those 12 million illegal immigrants in America?
What do you think they should do?

Do you care if they get the greencards atleast by being in America for atleast 5 years? Or you don't care?

I guess, my opinion is that, there have been some people that came from their country and they were very young... they didn't know anything back then... Should we judge them?

Some people are not to be blamed on because they have been brought to this country.. I've heard a lot of people that are here illegally, and they want to be here, they're really smart, no criminal records(as some people think). They can't even work after 18 because they don't have anything.
What would you say, if you knew someone that was about to be deported? Or would you care?

Would you help them in any way?

She keeps defending rapists, muder's all her concern is for Mexico this makes it far greater than it is for America she can careless what happens here,it's always about Mexico with her and give, give, give. I actually think she works for Mexico she finds no fault in anything a illegal alien does rapists are done here so illegal aliens can do it to. Murders are done here so illegal aliens can do them too. According to her Mexico should be allowed to moved in the White House and run the country .sqwirlsgirl why don't you pack up your illegal happy self and go back to Mexico. Stop demanding that Mexico be allowed to run America so Fox and his buddies can continue to loot and rob the country while you condone encourage it and blame America cause Mexico can not even steal right.

I thought the sheer might of the Illegals taking a day off was supposed to seriously impact the economy and make "xenophobic whitey" take notice?

All I noticed is that I had to buy my oranges at the supermarket instead of on the corner. If fact, I paid less and the quality was much better, is this what it would be like without Mexicans?

Seems like there was no real impact.

Recently, on a trip to Vancouver, I was amazed at the amount of busunesses/shops which were looking for full time staff/part time staff...almost 1 in 3. If the good Canadian people don't want the job, I will gladly do it, if I can become a citizen.

There is an overabundance of Mexican immigrants in the US today and combined they have quite an effect on our economy. I do not distinguish between illegal and legal here simply because for the most part neither categories are truthfully productive citizens. Yearly, there is approximately an economic shortfall of about $3,000 for each Mexican immigrant living in the US. The average LEGAL working Mexican adult living in the US pays 1/3 the taxes that his American counterpart does. This is mostly because the majority of Mexican immigrants have less than a High School Education, make less money, have more children and qualify for more social programs. ILLEGAL Mexicans living in this country pay NO taxes, get free emergency medical care, and get to send their children to US public schools. The ACLU thinks it is unconstitutional to stop a child from attending public school because they do not want to give up their private information. Do you think this is right?
