That is a 64.000 question which has been asked for decades and see how we have advanced. It starts with the little ones, we must stop racism at home, kids will copy their parents. First time you call somebody by a prejudiced name watch how fast your kids pick it up. L:ets stop the trend NOW.

Depends on the country you're talking about. In some countries it's been going on so long, it may never be defeated.

I think the best way to defeat racism is by not being so judgemental with people's culture, skin color, looks, languages etc. Also teach our children that diversity is actaully a good thing, that there is people from all walks of life and we should respect them if they respect us.

I think it will get worse before it gets better. The people at the top are not 'trickling down' tolerance and mercy. They will cash in on any angle for a vote. --If that includes racial divisiveness to get someone to vote for you, they are just fine doing that. No one seems to be setting a high standard that the masses wish to follow. No JFK taking a half hour of network primetime to make a speech about racial tolerance.

first, i think we should stop twisting everything having to race into a racist remark. i sick of having to choose my words carefully when when what im trying to say isn't even remotely close to racism. someone almost always tries to tell me its racist though. people are having trouble differentiating between fact and racism and its starting to get on my nerves

What country?

In case you didn't notice, people from around the world use this site.

Anyway, observing the stupidity, I'm going to guess you're American.

Just, please, don't declare a "War on Racism." The rest of us are sick of those things. The idiocy is beyond comprehension.

Every frickin "War on..." just makes the situation worse.

Keep working, but remember racism is not exclusive to Caucasians.

It can't be defeated completely because we are all ethnocentric to a degree.

We need to accept our differences and learn from each other.

it has to start at home. parents teach their children to be or not to be racist. and as they get older, they are around racist friends. it may never stop. just start at home with your children. I'm not racist, and if i hear my kids say anything ugly about anyone. they have me to deal with. that's the way i was raised. my father was racist, but my mom was not.
