I recently had a fiancee visa approved by the USCIS, in which they told me it was sent to the National Visa Center. I was wondering if anyone knew the current processing times for a I-129F Fiancee visa at the NVC. It was approved on 11OCT2006 ( I-129F Fiancee Visa) she is from Russia, just in case that helps anyone predict processing times, thanks for looking at my ? - Shawn

The NVC processes them quite quickly, then forwards them off to the appropriate embassy or consulate. You can call to see if it has been received and forwarded.

For a better idea of timelines for your particular embassy and some other helpful information on K visas check out Visa Journey.

The NVC will forward the approved I-129F on to the appropriate consulate for visa processing. So it really depends on the consulate where your fiancee is going to be interviewed. I'd check the state dept. website for consulate information or call the NVC 1-800 number for further information.

The NVC 1-800# will also be able to give you a Case #. This will come in handy if you need to contact the U.S. Embassy in Russia. The Customer Service Rep. at the NVC will also inform you when your petition was forwarded to the consulate.

The USCIS is so backed up. It will probably take up to 6 months to get it processed.

It looks like they're currently working on cases filed at the beginning of April 2006
