I hate to admit it, but I usually pay attention to the federal, and to some extent the state legislative races, but not to the 'trivial' city council and board of supervisor races. This year I am going to take the time to research where people stand in the local races. From Maywood's prohibition of traffic tickets so's not to catch illegals, to Hazelton's strict anti-illegal immigrant laws, I have learned that the LOCAL politicians are very important.
Cook County IL, (including Chicago) is about to vote on being a sanctuary city, and the proponants of that motion think it will pass easily. I used to live there, and I'm telling you, people relied on Daly and didn't pay much attention to anything else.
Will you pay attention to local elections in voting, now? And has the illegal immigration issue made a difference to you in this?
