Note (after reading a few responses). Please only serious answers from people who actually know something about Iran (not those who have come to regurgitate the spoon-fed American propoganda),
Yes, I know about Iran and I am serious about wanting to live there. Inshallah, someone from Iran with some actual knowledge will reply.

Check with their consulate and let them know that you are Shia muslim. They are usually very motivated. I am not sure about actual immigration policy. I know that their economy did not do good after Islamic revolution, until recently ( which I think may be due to surge in Oil prices and has little to do with industrial development). This brings the question if finding job is easy there. Another thing, many people forget that Iranians are not just Shia muslim, they are also Persian. Try to read their history. Persian phenomena is an absolutely different fact and reality from Islam. Iranian's take great pride in their persian heritage and like white caucasian , have a hidden racial pride in it. They will support you just knowing that you are Shia but they will never consider you equal if you are not persian. Thats the reason Arab Shia and Persian Shia do not see each other eye to eye. This is a fact, not many people appreciate in West.

I will take this opportunity to express a little of my opinion here. Iranian thought process and behavior does not reflect Islamic way of thinking. Same is true for current Arabic approach. If you go in history, both Arab and Iran are different civilizations which have been there even before Islam, christianity and Judiasim. Racial pride is deeply embedded in them. However, violance and mutual hatered and considering other civilizations inferior is their cultural issue and actually a deviation from true Islam. Islam requires equality ( in fair sense), responsiblity and being realistic and true. These two nations happen to be muslim at this time and age; but their behavior could not be any farther from true Islam. Peace and thanks for listening me.

What is in Iran that is so intriguing? Nukes? Terrorists? Car bombings? Dictatorship? I doubt you'll have trouble getting in, you'll probably never be allowed to get OUT! Hope you've done your homework! That's one of the darkest countries on the planet. Start listening to the news. There's a war going on there, buildings crumbling around you. Do you think your accounting degree will be useful to you there? I'd be more concerned about what type of weapons the locals use to defend themselves against terrorists, you'll probably need to educate yourself on those kinds of things, not working at a bank after you marry a Irani Nationalist!

If you have Iranian parentage on the male line you may already be an Iranian citizen.

But even if you're not, if you can be sponsored by an employer or if you are self-supporting, you have a good chance to be allowed to stay.

For what it is worth, Iranians have a great sense of humor. Although perhaps most foreigners don't know that.
