That's not true ,at least I don't think it is.But if millions of them pesky Canadians are crossing the northern border and lowering the wages for Americans and demanding that we speak real English, then I say build it but damn that's a long border fence

It is only a 'study' to see if one is needed or if something else is needed. There have been some illegal crossings, (both ways, probably) and people are focussing on all borders. However, the Mexican border is in such disarray that they run across in groups knowing border officers can only go so many directions at once. There is no similar problem on the Canadian border.

Still, they don't want to leave a hole in national security, so they are going to study the situation there, too. The same bill says they will BUILD a fence on the Mexican border, though.

Here's where I saw the news about that:

Or, it that doesn't work, try:

As an American/Canadian living in Canada, I'm not bothered by this idea and I don't really think most Canadians are. I don't think the problem of illegals coming TO the USA FROM Canada is any more of a problem than those coming FROM the USA TO Canada - there's probably about the same number either way. Regardless, I'm sure it is no where near the problem of the southern US border. I'm all for national security in all ways at all borders in these days of terrorism.

I don't know why we would put up a fence on the US-Canada border....I have heard no serious discussion about this...
All the discussion I have heard relates to a much needed fence on the US-Mexican border...

i read that yesterday, there wasn't much on it but i suspect that simply by speaking of it, perhaps it makes it look as though the government is concerned about all borders and not solely the Mexican border? or maybe they really are concerned that terrorists are going to use any entry they can. i don't think it's a bad idea, hopefully it would not upset the Canadians, but i suspect it might
