If you look at it from a red indian prespective, ain't all people living in the US illigal migrant and should be removed back to England?

The editorial in the Aug. 5 issue of the Mountain View Voice ("Many sides to the immigrant question") was the final "push" that made us write this response. To us, it is insulting to compare illegal immigrants from Mexico to our forefathers who came to this country and founded the amazing democracy we enjoy today. The differences are huge:

1) The people who came here to found this country broke no pre-existing laws. The illegal immigrants are called "illegal" because they are.

2) Our founding fathers and other legal immigrants, including those from Mexico, came here to make their home here. The illegal immigrants (as stated in the editorial and other newspaper articles) come here to make money and send it to their home in Mexico. That is the key: Their home is not the U.S. Every dollar sent to their home in another country is a dollar not spent in our local economy.

I have a question... if im underage is it possible to leave the united states if i intend on moving to another country... without my parrents permition?

It seems kind of hard to love it or leave it when you're forced to Love it and not given an option to leave it.

I think people can speak what ever language they want. BUT anyone in America should be able to speak English. We should not have to cater to other languages. We should be able to conduct business in English and not have to have translators available. When I go to other countries I do not expect everyone to speak English for me. Immigrants should assimilate to the American culture and language, after all why did they come here if they do not want to be American.

I am going to do a speech on this topc and would like to hear some opinions on WHY people should speak English, and HOW speaking or not speaking English affects us as a society.

Thanks for your input.

Just to clarify, I am not against immigration, only illegal immigration and those who want to come to America but act like they are still in there old country. If they want to be in there old country then go back. If you want to be in America then act like it. You chose to be here, no one is forcing you to stay.

Kicked out all the illegal immigrants. "The United States, the most powerful and revered nation in the world, has been defeated by illegal immigrants." I can see the headlines now. Think our support in the world is low now, just wait. We need a better option than just kick them out because it would severly damage the countries reputation if we did. What do you all think? I think most well off educated people don't really have to worry about losing jobs and don't depend on the government for support so they don't care about the problems.......does that make sense to you?

Be it mexican or salvadoranian the ones who cross the border illegally do so for work. The ones who cross legally do so to go shopping and spend mega cash and pay lots of sales tax which they do not profit from. Americans cross into mexico to get laid, drunk or buy drugs and a few as tourists, very few. Tijuana is the busiest border crossing. and the only thing to do in Tijuana is go to the bars or strip clubs, massage parlours where you cant get a massage 1000's of pharmacies which will sell things they shouldnt but with 20 dlls a dr. will write you a prescription. There are also 1000's of americans who live in Tijuana illegally and no one says a word as long as they arent bothering anyone who cares. If there were no illegals in the fields how many citizens are willing to go out there and pick for 20 a day for a 10 hr day 6 days a week. Sure there has to be some kind of control but people are getting ridiculous. noone ever said anything before about them so why now?

i know some people will disagree with me but I am coming from 15 years of living and working almost exclusively with them. I am half Columbian myself. I t seems that when anything goes wrong with a person they always blame it on the race. It's because thats the way blacks are or that's the way whiteboys are etc. The thing that gets me the most is that they hate a lot within thier own race. They always want to seperate themselves from the Puerto Ricans or the Mexicans etc. It's like the are always trying to convince America that they are the best people in the world..i hate this

This question is for those self-called racists who listen to r´n´b or hip hop (black singers) and for those who go to chinese restaurants or wear clothes from indonesia or like bruce lee´s movies or have mp3´s players from japan ect...

Everyone’s heard of the Great Wall of China. Anyone for the Great Wall of Texas? I think that building 40 feet high, 15 feet thick wall along the Mexican border will help with immigration. What do you think? And instead of building a super highway that goes from Mexico to Canada, use that money for this GREAT WALL.

Well if they didn't have strict immigration laws......Then what would we do? Would your suggestion be to seal the entire Mexican country so that the Guatemalans, Hondurans, El Salvadorians among the many other 3rd world countries situated below them would flood into our country too. So in essence they are protecting their neighbors the USA from an even larger influx of illegal immigrants. Do you think these immigrants main goal is to immigrate to Mexico for all of the wonderful jobs. Think about it their destination is the good old USA..........My grandmother stated think before you speak......It is a good idea huh.

Being American, most of us have very little knowledge of politcs in other countries. As a woman concerned with the survival of western Culture and history, I am closely watching the news about Islam in Europe. I can say, that our problem with Illegals fails to seem as important as your struggle with Muslims. I hope that readers will take notice of your problems, because the future of the planet depends on how Europe and England faces the issues and deals with them in a manner that is in the best interest of their culture and history.
