"Why didn't your ancestor did?"

Not even worth a response.

Hades:

You should visit the housing district in San Pueblo that was built for Mexican families. Nice two bedroom bungalows that now five years later is a trash infested dump with all the windows removed and copper tubing stripped and sold. Nice people huh.

Hades - I am indeed the granddaughter of immigrants. On one side of my family.. the other has been here, forever.. Thing is, with my family, they did it legally. Once here, they dropped their country's title, and became...Americans. We still kept our families traditions, and spoke our family language, until my grandparents learned to speak English from their children, going to school. They thought it was more important to speak English, so less and less of their language was spoken, until we no longer speak it at all. They placed their hands over their hearts and pledged allegiance to the United States of America.. not some other countries.. they didn't expect to have our labels, signs, etc.. all designed to have their language written on them.
Sorry, come here legally, or go home. And if you've come here to become part of our country, learn our countries ways.. honor them.. or, go back to where you came from, period.
Everyone should fight for their country, their rights within their country.. does anyone think that we as Americans, won't fight to keep what is ours. Won't that be a sad state if we did that.. played dead.. or Oh My!!! what will another country think of us if we fight back to save what is ours.. Sorry, this grandma is someone who will fight.. Right now, I send letters/emails, with all my concerns and opinions to all the government officials on this subject. I write articles and place them in news papers, etc..
Let our country hear your voice people! This is your country.. take it back!

I wish the native indians had protected THEIR land as fiercely as people are fighting the illegals.......this wouldn't even be an issue. And yes the ancestors did fight for their freedom, but guess what they didn't do it on their own turf did they? They came here from ANOTHER country and set up their colonies on someone elses land to make a better living for their families. That is all that immigrants want as well. The only difference being that they didn't have immigration laws at the time.
I agree that there are perverts, thiefs, and other criminals among those who live here illegally and there should be a way of weeding them out, but many are also hardworking individuals. As far as I know a poor person from Mexico wouldn't have a chance in hell of getting in to the country "legally" under the current immigration laws. What other option do they have.
By the way to get any sort of discount on medical care from the government in my city you have to show proof of citizenship or your resident alien card so I don't know where all this free help is coming from for the illegals.
My friend brought her parents here LEGALLY and they aren't eligible for any benefits.

They "do" have National Pride!

They come to this Country, make all kinds of money, and ship it back to Mexico, so that thier people can live!

The Country is Broke! They need jobs, so they illegally immigrate to the USA and get the jobs, to support thier folks.

What my beef is, let them in here with a "work permit" so we know who is here and who isnt. Criminals need to stay home, we have our own already who are stealing everything that isnt nailed to the wall, and sometimes, they take the wall with them.

Other perverts, can just stay home and do what they do naturally, and not in our land.

I wish you well..

Jesse

well it happens that the u.s is always trying to " fix" our problems first with the war then the mexican revolution in wich the u.s play a big role next the embargos ( for those who doesn't know it the u.s has embargos agaisnt any country that doesn't "cooperate" tuna embargo, sugar "regualtion" and many other political-economical manipulations to keep mexicans dependent upon u.s. products .
in the 80 with the introduction of neo-liberalism by american
sugestion and so forth
i guess the only problem that mexican have is the u.s

The short answer is probably no. They should really pressure their corrupt government to do a better job providing for them instead of stealing from them.
