I have been going out with my boyfriend for about 8 months now, and he has been here illegally since he was 10 ( he is now 20). He has not asked me to marry him, but it has come up in our conversations a few times, and he is thinking about marrying someone else for 2,000 dollars. I would like to marry him (not acting as his wife, it's just a paper) just to help him, but I don't know if I can because I'm just turning 18 soon and I only have about 5,000 dollars to my name. So I guess my questions are:

1) Would the government allow us to marry even if I had not a lot of money?

2) Would he have to go back to Mexico first?

Ok. So it is said that deporting illegal immigrants will cost double what it costs just to "let them be".

My question is: It also costs a lot more to prosecute other crimminals than to just "let them be", but I am willing to pay that price. I mean are we just going to let people committ crimes because it is expensive to stop them? That arguement holds no water.

This is NOt about LEGAL immigrants. They have broken no laws. I am merely talking about illegal immigrants in the United States. So, if you have any racist comments about Mexicans in general (legal or not) please post them elsewhere. I have seen a lot of racism in this category. I want to make it clear I am AGAINST illegal immigration, but not against ANY perticular race.

What are your thoughts on the cost of deporting vs. the cost of letting illigal immigrants stay here illegally?

and the illegal immigrants had no clue to where the Americans went -- where would the illegals go? Would they then be forced to deal with the issues in their countries, that make them run to America?

This is for those who argue that if the child is born in America, the parent shouldn't be deported because it is punishing the child for their parent's mistakes: Does that mean that every immigrant can just come across the border, get pregnant, have her baby, and then she is just automatically a citizen because we don't want her to leave without her child?

Pro illegals, after Bush grants amnesty to these people, allowing all of them to apply for federal programs, etc... and watching your taxes skyrocket, to support these people--

What are you going to do? .... Well.. because you know it will just happen all over again? When these illegals-- then citizens apply for anything and everything to ride the system, are now sponsoring every single family member from the south-- and the babies keep coming left and right, with yet another amnesty protest, and another tax increase, will you still stand pro?

None of my grandparents were born in Ireland, but my father was a US citizen and because he had at least one grandparent born in Ireland and did all the necessary paperwork he was granted dual citizenship in Ireland. Would I be able to get dual citizenship because he got it even though my grandparents weren't born in Ireland? Also he is deceased now so if this is possible, will that cause any problems?

OK, the ONLY reason illegals are being HIRED, is because they work cheaper,and usually without benefits!!!!
IF they were legalized, they would start DEMANDING the SAME wages and benefits of the American workers, whose jobs they have taken!!
So, my QUESTION is, exactly what are THEY going to do when the Guatamalans,etc, come take these jobs from THEM?????

ALSO, to those that hire illegals, WHAT are YOU going to do,when these illegals start demanding higher wages??? Are you going to REPLACE them with those who will work cheaper?? Evidently you show NO loyalty for any of the workers!!! So, the whole thing will start over AGAIN!!!

If someone is here illegal and they want to become legal how do they go about doing so.? My friend is married to an illegal imm. and he has no papers,social, or greencard and they want to make it so that he can get his papers and such without having go back to his home (mexico). Where does he go to get help?
