We don't know who the illegals really are because they become the "invisible" people, hiding behind false identities, when they enter the U. S. They could be rapists, murderers, drug dealers, terrorists, or just ordinary people looking for work.
They make up false identities to remain undetected here. They lie to employers about their legal status. They use fake names when they go to the hospital to be treated for free, when they apply for a driver's license, sign a lease for an apartment, apply for food stamps, register their children in school, or open a bank account.
Illegals are not held accountable for their actions because no one knows their true identity. Their identities are a web of fabrications.
Remember the novel, "The Jackal"? He was an international terrorist and hit man. One reason the Jackal was so hard to catch was because he was like a chameleon, always changing his identity.
Law enforcement officials hunted this ghostly figure all around the globe because no one knew what he really looked like. He was a master of disguise and deceit. The illegals are the same way because their lives are built on a mountain of lies.
Can we say for certain that our neighbor is not an illegal? Who knows? To me that is a powerful reason to be against illegals.

Most damaging aspect is that these people do not function in America like the rest of us. They cannot work legally, so they learn to lie to get employment. They work for sub minimal wages, so they supplement with other acitivities, including illegal ones such as drug sales. Because they do not want to be detected, they drive without proper training or licensure. They do not get anything but free clinic or ER health care, which promotes poorer health. The kids cannot reveal their parents' situation so they learn to live in shame.

I have two major issues with it:
1) The entrance is ILLEGAL. Thus, I have a serious problem with allowing criminals to remain at large with benefits.
2) Since they are illegal, they should NOT have access to our schools, hospitals, welfare, police, fire, etc. This takes these valuable and necessary resources away from people who ARE NOT criminals.
Which I guess leads to one conclusion: I do not like people who blatantly break the law to help themselves and at the same time hurt others.

They are costing us a fortune. They come over here and suck up all of our free services without contributing much, if anything, to our society.
Yes, there are American citizens who do the same thing, and I think they should also be forced to work, but that's a separate problem - about which I am just as angry.
End the hand-out programs, and you will end the illegal problem.

I'll bet the ones who had their idintities stolen and their credit ruined would have been the ones to bash people like you and I in a second.

They consume educational and social service funds at a higher rate than citizens and thus deprive American citizens of a good education and social services.
