Ok. So it is said that deporting illegal immigrants will cost double what it costs just to "let them be".

My question is: It also costs a lot more to prosecute other crimminals than to just "let them be", but I am willing to pay that price. I mean are we just going to let people committ crimes because it is expensive to stop them? That arguement holds no water.

This is NOt about LEGAL immigrants. They have broken no laws. I am merely talking about illegal immigrants in the United States. So, if you have any racist comments about Mexicans in general (legal or not) please post them elsewhere. I have seen a lot of racism in this category. I want to make it clear I am AGAINST illegal immigration, but not against ANY perticular race.

What are your thoughts on the cost of deporting vs. the cost of letting illigal immigrants stay here illegally?

Whatever the cost, I think it's worth it to have them deported. We'll actually be saving money in the long run, with the cost of health, social security, welfare, education, just to name a few.

Like you I have no problem with legal immigration, it's the illegals that only come here to exploit our system of govt. and disrespect us that piss me off.

I agree with you completely. I think that by letting "illegals" remain here it only deludes respect for ANY laws in this country.

They say that they come here to make money. Well, my job got shipped to Mexico, so if I get arrested for selling drugs, I am just going to say, "Hey, I needed to make money...I have a family to feed...My elderly mother needs medication...."

The key word in this immigration debate is ILLEGAL. I don't understand why so many people can't see the difference. This country is great BECAUSE of the multi-cultural society we have. But ILLEGAL is just that . ILLEGAL.

By the way, a few months back when there were all those street rallies and demonstrations to support immigrants, did the country come to a complete stop? I didn't notice if it did. (maybe a few traffic jams from the people that should have been in work that day but were out "demonstrating" instead.)

Hospitals have now begun to go bankrupt.
The union is broken in places.
State governments have actually been shut down for 1 week so that the people who live there may get their taxes raised so that they can pay for illegals.
25 Americans a day are killed by illegals due to either drunk driving or assault.
There's no cost to deportation.

What ninny said it would cost more to deport them then let them be? Los Angeles spends more than $1 billion a year on services for illegal aliens here, and that doesn't count federal matching funds spent on them. In one year, ok two, max, we'd make up the money for deporting those here.

There are other reasons to not deport, but cost definitely is not one of them.

It wouldn't cost much to deport illegals, just declare marshal law, send out the National Guard or Federal forces. Pull the illegals and there supporters from there homes. Load them on busses and haul them away. Anyone who harbors illegals, citizen or not, should be considered enemy of the state and deported too.

Yes, that's an old favorite of the pro illegals ... fact is, it may cost a lot of money to deport them, but to keep them here indefinitely will cost considerably more ... as you say, keeping people in prison costs money too ... maybe we should just do away with all laws? Would that make the pro illegals happy?

I don't know why it should cost alot of money. We don't have to fly them back first class or put them on a cruise ship. A school bus with no a/c crowded and packed to beyond the max would work. If we make it nice, they will just come back and want to be deported everytime they want to go back home to visit. Oh, by the way, I am a mexican born here, parents born here, grand parents born here

If they are here illegally, than they are criminals and are subject to jail time. Is the cost of holding them factored in to the cost of just "letting them be"? I bet not. Drug dealers and murderers are deported because they are criminals. So are the illegal immigrants and they should be deported as well.

Even though you have made it perfectly clear that your question is about "illegals" and no specific race ...trust me when i say you will still be considered a racist. at any rate, The cost speculation of Amnesty is 500 billion dollars, yes...500 billion to grant amnesty. I am in agreement with you, We should not allow people to get away with breaking the law because it is a financial burden to us.

I think the long term cost of letting them stay is much lower than the cost would be if we deport them. They are ILLEGAL, and they must go.
