Here's a site that tells you what you need to know.

I'm sure they will be happy to have you... since there is a HUGE influx of Canadians wanting to be United States citizens.

Their national healthcare system sucks, and their taxes are MUCH higher than ours. Enjoy.

before you can become a citizen you must first become a permanent resident. This can be done by either applying as a skilled worker or being sponsored by a close family member (i.e. parent, spouse, etc). The skilled worker application takes about 2-4 years and is filed through the Canadian Consulate general in Buffalo, New York in your case.

You are given a number of points based on your work experiecne, education, language skills, etc. If you achieve the number of points you are eligible to apply. Once you are a permanent resident for 3 years, you may apply for citizenship.

The question isn't how...but exactly why? You better make a mint up there in canada to pay for all of the other people who live off of their system? I would suggest looking into the amount of taxes you will be paying there.

the old fashioned way... marry a canadian citizen

ok but seriuosly, go to the canadian site and they actually have a list of certain districts you can immigrate too without much trouble if you are a dr, engineer or other professionals they are short on

otherwise, get a job, apply for a visa and settle in to a long process of waiting and teetering ont eh edge of gaining and changing citizenship status'

It is just not done very often. US is much better than Canada. I got several Canadian friends that are contemplating to become US citizen instead. They tell me it is much harder to find good job in Canada than US. Also it is cold up there.
