Immigration - June 2006

Do you think officials have been hiding the facts on immigration from the public until they just couldn't keep a lid on it anymore?
Do you think we'll finally see some better news coverage on the subject?

I don't get it really. Why are we so quick to hate on others that are looking for the same freedoms and opportunities that our ancestors looked for? If only Native Americans had a border back in the 1600's ...

This is what I see with my own eyes. There is a town called Apopka in central florida, Its packed with Mexicans certainly mostly illegals, I saw a 3 beedroom home with 15 people living in it, there was another house that had at least 10 by this they dont pay rent wich in turn leaves more vacancies, they work under the table for less money, wich in turn helps employers drop the salaries to us Americans. They buy their clothes in the salvation army and ride 8 or more in a big SUV (maybe it makes up for the small wee wee), They dont pay taxes and send their money to Mexico. They dont invest their earnings here in USA People say they take jobs that no one want that's BS. example: We was renting a room to a Colombian man that had gone to cooking school here in the US and went thru the process and got his Visa, 3 months ago his employeer hired a Mexican couple, they watched what he did and how he cooked. Guess what? he got fired and the couple stayed doing his job for less money.

When deciding on Immigration policy, should we keep in mind whether or not we are saddling future generations with an overcrowded, polluted urban sprawl-land filled with balkanized factions-thus proving ourselves too stupid to preserve our heritage and country and so base we are willing to sell it for a buck?

Our pockets are getting drained with these high gas prices, the problem with immigration, and war in the middle east. I think Busch needs to bring our soldiers back and repair the problems we have with our neighboring country.Thats causing more of an impact to the U.S.I think Iran can take their country from here, and us work on ours.Im getting pretty tired if this situation.Im thinking of saving up a bit amount of money and I m gonna go live in a more peaceful country.

Take jobs from citizens by working for sh*t wages, and when you are asked to leave, turn around and demand rights you are not entitled to, while waving a foreign flag in their faces?

Look, the way I see it, the only advantage to working in the US is that you can make more here, than you can in Mexico. So if we allow workers to come across - then it eliminates all the illegal crossing, extortion, and costs for extra border guards everywhere.

Now, you charge everyone coming over $20 a day. I mean, how much can you make in most of the jobs you come accross to do? Probably $20 a day more than you could make doing something in Mexico... so most people say "Ahhh forget it... by the time I pay the $20, I come out about even... then there's the commute, the traffic, etc.... I'll just work here."

The $20 a day (times how many million illegals that choose to come over?) funds the rest of the immigration department.

The only restriction: "Pass ends at Midnight each day. Each day your here, you need a new pass". If your caught even once without a valid day pass, you can NEVER return again... like getting 86'd from Disney World.

Recently i read in Wikipedia that bitish monarch does not hold a passport when visiting foreign nation because...Passport is issued under the name of monarch. I am Indian citizen, my passport clearly states that "By order of President of india...."
You can check your own passport, these lines may be on very first page of any passport that the passport is issued under the order of head of state of country ie. President, monarch etc.
My real question is that, if British monarch does not hold any passport cause she cannot request authority to make passport for her own,,,, then Any president of world does need passport...?
If anybody know then please reply.

Check this link to understand my question: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passport#The_British_Monarch

Obviously people want a better life, we all do. The question I ask myself is- what are they running from, not their roots. Since Untied States already plays a world police, why don't we overthrow Mexico's corrupt government and help them establish a better world for our neighboring Hispanics?

My opinion:
I think it's a dumb idea. I'm a legal immigrant and my families spent almost 20 years filing the immigration papers just so we could start right in a new country. If we can do this, then so are the hundreds of people who are crossing borders everyday. If this bill ever makes it, I'm rallying for citizenship of the legal immigrants. How many people are for that? It is unfair right. I am livid that illegal immigrants come waltzing into this country and demand the same rights we do. I don't think legalizing the illegals will solve the problem. Close the border and enforce the rules. Crack down on illegal immigration and send them back to where they came from unless they can make things right. Where are the legal immigrants at? It's time that we are heard also. And most importantly, I want to hear what the U.S. citizens have to say about this.
