Just wait, it'll get better...my prediction is that more gangs etc. from Mexico will work on whittling away at america, bit by bit, through fun things like identity theft, maybe eventually they'll just have to cut the internet between the two countries...Mexico's bound and determined to get what they want, and they really don't have a lot of consideration for america/americans in the process of gaining that objective. Not very neighborly...

You file an affidavit with your tax return indicating that you did not work at these jobs. This will require you to print out your tax return and mail it in instead of electronically filing it. The stamp will cost you ~$0.85. Electronically filing would cost you about $20. The proces will not cost you anymore time than normal and notaries are free at your local bank. The illegal saved you money. You can fnd instructions online at http://www.irs.gov.
As far as the person who used your social security number, you shouldn't worry at all about them. They weren't the only one who used you number and probably won't be the last. It is going around for everyone to use now! At least they paid the taxes rather than working under the table.

I would gather evidence that it wasn't you and present it to the Internal Revenue Service. Then I would go to the immigration authorities and report him or her for working illegally. They will then presumably deport them.

You should report that you are a victim of identity theft. Hopefully they can find the person through their place of employment. This is not a little problem. You should check your credit reports, too.
