Do you think officials have been hiding the facts on immigration from the public until they just couldn't keep a lid on it anymore?
Do you think we'll finally see some better news coverage on the subject?

Being from Texas, I've been aware of this issue for at least a decade. What's amazing to me is how some people can't see the difference between legal and illegal. They keep yapping about how racist it is to want to guard the U.S. border. They're obviously clueless as to what this constant invasion will mean to the future of the U.S.
But it has opened my eyes to how much our elected politicians do not want to stop the invasion.

I agree with the cat person - the Bush administration is shittting their pants about all the overseas crap they got themselves involved in cuz soldiers keep dying in Afghan and Iraq and people are starting to get real annoyed and starting to wonder why the helll they are even there...stupid US government...remember mudderfuc*in Vietnam?! Anyway, so I don't think necessarily facts were being "hidden" but now, the US government is creating all this shittt probably cuz they don't know what else to do and wanna cause some fuss - as usual - so they start harassing immigrants. And so people are pisssed off and they ain't gonna have none of that. Better news coverage? What'd you think? The media is a giant wealthy white male that wants to keep other wealthy white males content.

Yes i do, yes we were, yes I did. I had no clue until I just happen to look at the issue, based on what an illegal immigrant had asked on Yahoo Answers of all places.

They are not immigrants, legal or otherwise. They are not migrants. The are not vagrants. They are colonizers, pure and simple.

How many photos of Mexican Flags blowing in the wind for schools and public offices in the south do you need to get the idea? In Los Angeles, they put up billboards (news agencies!) crossing out USA and saying that we belong to Mexico.

Our leaders want to coddle us and call them something they're not to pull the wool over our eyes. They sent our jobs overseas and they're not pulling the wool over our eyes anymore for putting our citizenship on the chopping block next.

I will NOT be forced to learn Spanish and integrate with them!

Your jobs, your identity, your citizenship is for sale to be bought and sold on the open government market. Don't let our leaders get away with this insanity, don't do nothing and lead us toward another civil war when the Mexican population starts ceding land back to Mexico by their votes.

The newsmakers have chosen to ignore the huge humanitarian scandal of separating familes for years. Everyone who's being paying taxes for more than 3 years should automatically be given a Green card instead of importing ignorant foriengers with no knowledge of English or a useful skill simply because they won some Green Card LOTTERY! Legal immigrants are far worse than illegals-stop ignoring the facts!!!
There is no other legal way to come to US, but by winning a lottery!

People living in the border states have known about this and complained about it for at least 2 decades that I can remember. But no one wanted to listen to burdens that were being imposed on their communities. Maybe the rest of the country was blindsided, but border states have been witnessing the invasion all along.

We need media coverage of the truth. Facts that are not changed by which political party the writer happens to belong to. A lot has happened that has not been reported by the mainstream media. If it is bad for the illegal aliens' cause they usually don't report it.

The citizens of the United States of America need to open their eyes and see the truth before it bites us in the butt.

No, it was an issue 20 years ago, but the public did not want anything done and the government did not do anything.

Anyone keeping up with what is happening was aware of it, but in general no one wanted to sound like they were not "politically correct"

We are seeing more news coverage of immigration and gay marriage because this administration wants to distract our attention from the disaster that is Iraq.
