After all he can't sign us onto a treaty that the Senate votes down. I thought Libs were tired of Bush acting like a "dictator" .Yet if he had forced us into a treaty that the Senate voted against, unanimously,he would be acting like a dictator.

Don't you think its just huge wastage of taxpayers' money to maintain a puppet like supremo named The President who doesn't have virtually any power?

Why can't the constitution be amended and this position be erased forever?

9/11 was what made America the broken place it has been recently. First it caused the U.S. to go to war, which has but them im trillions of dollars in debt and sank to the same value as a canadian dollar. Second people have no trust in there government. All in all i think one attack pretty much crippled a nation.

President Bush's veto only prevents federal tax dollars from being used to destroy embryos.

Private funds are used for embryonic stem cell research on a daily basis.

Bush did not make it illegal.

By the way. You and I were embryos, once.

Then have to pay 9% on purchases (and all the hidden sales taxes that were passed on from the manufacturer all the way to the buyer).
Why does the Left want even more? I am tapped! (and NO, I am not rich!). Wake up Liberals. I would hire more people if it were not for the Liberal State that keeps trying to put me out of business.

I just got an email from my local news station saying that Bush has vetoed the new stem cell bill.

Here is the article:

WASHINGTON -- Pushing back against the Democratic-led Congress, President George W. Bush vetoed a bill Wednesday that would have eased restraints on federally funded embryonic stem cell research.

Democrats, who had made the stem cell legislation a top priority when they took control of the House and Senate in January, were quick to denounce the president's decision.

"This is just one example of how the president puts ideology before science, politics before the needs of our families, just one more example of how out of touch with reality he and his party have become," Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., told the Take Back America conference of liberal activists Wednesday.

That was question #1.

#2: If 9/11 had happened, how would Gore have responded and where would we be today in countering terrorism?

#3. Wouldn't the GOP still be blaming Gore for 9/11?

#4. If Sept.11th hadn't happened because Gore caught the plot in advance with intelligence, would the GOP folks not realize what he had thwarted and be ranting against him about something else.

#5. Where would we be today if Gore had won, 9/11 hadn't happened, and we'd had a democratic congress for 2 yrs. How about a GOP congress the whole time opposing Gore?

In my research, I've found that the federal government consumes about 30% of the nation's resources and only contributes about 10% to my local schools' operating budgets. My state has NO income tax and yet it affords to pay 45% of the school budget and the state shares tax dollars with the city, who pays the other 45%. This means 90% of education in my city is paid for out of a 3% property tax and a 7% sales tax.

If the federal government is taking 30% from just about everyone, why isn't it paying 80% of the education costs? Why is it that if you want to go to a good cheap college you go to one paid for by the state? Wouldn't it be better if healthcare, education, and other social programs were funded and operated closer to home?

Why does anyone think Washington D.C. is better off controlling the schools than your own city hall?

Do You Want Lower Taxes? The US is the third lowest taxed country of the industrialized world. BUT, what If I told you that your taxes could be lowered, our schools, roads, bridges, first responders, emts, police, and fire departments could all receive more funding and in addition to all of that we could finance research and development for renewable, clean energy sources and break our dependence on oil, coal and nuclear power just by ending Corporate Subsidies(also known as corporate "welfare")?

Funny. All the heroes of 9-11, the firefighters and police, were union members. Want to tell me how you really feel about their work ethic?

Before unions, people could be worked 10 or more hours a day, 6 days a week, in whatever kind of miserable conditions employers felt like offering. You have unions to thank for 40 hour workweeks, two days off per week, and living wages. Experience has long shown that employees making a living wage contribute tremendously to economic growth, and that employers freed of constraint exploit their employees.
