When a law is submitted by the Congress to the President and the President signs the law, or the law is passed over the President with an Override, or the President doesn't sign the bill and the bill becomes a law in 10 days, its then up the the Supreme Court to determine if that law goes against our US Constitution.

This process is called Judicial review. If the Supreme Court in fact finds the law in violation of the Constitution, they can prevent the law from going into effect, or they can nullify a law that is already in effect. This is how the Supreme Court participates in the Checks and Balances process in our government.
