Government - June 2007

I saw him on tv and pictures of him laughing with other senators and it just made me sick to my stomach to think about what he did to that girl. Why would someone like him still have any credibility and continue to get elected?

I just happed to hear from a friend what he did at Chappaquiddick. That says a lot to me about his character. I can't believe someone who did that is never reprimanded and that a lot of people don't even know about it.

What other types of creeps do we have serving in the senate? I don't care what party they're in, but I don't want people like that serving in congress.

What sort of information would you find useful? Any Web 2.0 applications that would be interesting? Does your representative have something that you really like, and if so what is it?

There are so many hidden illegalities held secret by the Bush administration that are becoming evidant that its only a matter of time before this administration collapses. I wonder if Bush and Cheney WILL finish the full term of office. How long did it take from the Watergate break in to Nixon's resignation?

Seriously.

(Yes, I know: We can all sit here and blame "terrorists", countries that support them, and etc, etc, etc, etc...

But I seem to recall a point before Bush got elected that the Middle East wasn't in such turmoil. Sure, there were problems, but at least it didn't "consume" the region--as it is doing now: The US caught on three fronts: Iraq, Afghanistan, and possibly Iran. Israel: Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, and possibly (again) Iran. Not to mention its own internal problems with its failed leadership.)

Or am I the only one who is grasping at straws here?

Okay. Let me see if I get this one right:

The Palestinians elected Hamas democratically in 2006--because in their words: "Fatah was corrupt and incompetent, and unable to do anything about the current problems affecting the Palestinian people or their way of life."

So Hamas gets sworn in and then a year later--kicks out all Fatah reps, and Abbas once again reforms the government under the same law of rule over in teh West Bank...and WE still back them?!?

Even though they are still corrupt and incompetent?

WHY?

I heard Clinton and Obama today talking about how the government, with them running it, will somehow create jobs in the private sector. And I've heard plenty of people say that Bush somehow lost those jobs in the first place. So I'm curious, how does that work? How would the government, which produces NOTHING, go about creating a good or service beyond more government? How does the government create real jobs?

Reguardless of our political diferances comon sense tells me that if a rep. is voted presedent, he will only be denied most opertunities to get anything done, simply because of partisin politics that seem to be what modern polititions seem to do best.( on both sides!)

all of the immigrants coming into western societies are non-white and mostly poor peoples...western nations instead of the encouragement white people to increase in numbers, in which whites are the minority in the world, they say its not necessary because we should help our fellow human...because they are incapable of doing things for themselves unless the white man helps them...thus the liberal white arrogance...affirmative action is another example of liberal white arrogance...minorites can't survive in america unless they get help and special treatment over white people...

On April 24, 2007, U.S. House Representative Dennis Kucinich introduced H.Res. 333, calling for articles of impeachment to be sent to the U.S Senate with regards to Vice President Richard B. Cheney.
The grounds of the proposed impeachment are that the Vice President 1) fabricated a threat of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction, 2) purposely manipulated the intelligence process to deceive the citizens and Congress of the United States about an alleged relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda, and 3) has threatened aggression against the Republic of Iran absent any real threat to the United States, all in detriment to the national interest of the United States.
What do YOU think?

There is a civic election this fall in my city. The constituency I currently reside in is an open seat, as the incumbent is retiring. Should I go for it & run? I'm 24 & would be doing it for all the right reasons. I feel governments in general have become very inefficient in dealing with the real issues on any level. Would running help to tackle this problem or would I be wasting my time?

During the American Revolution, the Americans expelled the British forces by using "unconventional" tactics and militia forces. The same can be said about the Iraqis that are fighting against the occupation of US forces in Iraq, but they are called terroist, insurgents and evildoers.
