Okay. Let me see if I get this one right:

The Palestinians elected Hamas democratically in 2006--because in their words: "Fatah was corrupt and incompetent, and unable to do anything about the current problems affecting the Palestinian people or their way of life."

So Hamas gets sworn in and then a year later--kicks out all Fatah reps, and Abbas once again reforms the government under the same law of rule over in teh West Bank...and WE still back them?!?

Even though they are still corrupt and incompetent?

WHY?

A "corrupt and incompetent" government being backed by another "corrupt and incompetent" government. What is it you don't get?

If you are worried that some Muslims are going to "wipe Israel off the map", please note that the only country that was wiped off the map was Palestine.

I don't know what is it that the Palestinians are doing with the limited land they have. I feel sorry for them.

I think more than half of all Palestinians support Hamas. Its not that they want Israel gone, they want justice. I don't think the US was ever interested in justice considering it has vetoed more than 160 resolutions against Israel.

Only Israelis and Palestinians can solve the problem if they truely want peace. They must give each other space for better understanding. That's what has always been lacking between the Israelis and Palestinians. I believe its the only way forward into the future.

One day, both sides will get frustrated, fighting every single everyday. I hope to see changes in the future.

""Even though they are still corrupt and incompetent?""

Palestinian Hamas factions are also fighting with the Lebanese Militia. Certainly they are trouble.

When people are frustrated and looking for change they sometimes do something that looks good at the time but later they find out it was a mistake. Just look at the 2006 elections lol.

Lol, you don't get it, Fatah is not any more corrupt then any other government really, but Hamas on the other end is just a bunch of terroists. They never want peace or really any real good for their people, they just want Israel gone.

We support Abbas because he wants to help and he wants peace.

Why are we backing either side? That's a better question! And why do we back Israel? Why do we give our money to ANY of these idiotic factions when all they do is bicker like little petulant children? Those millions of dollars would be better spent here in our own country.

Wow sticking up for Hamas.

Killing their own citizens for political differences, and to top it off to steal from their beloved Arafat's home (even took his Noble Peace prize & his wife's shoes) Is that the type of leadership that would be helpful?
