After sixty years, I have discovered a name transposition on my birth certificate. My first name appears as my middle name and my middle name appears as my first name. I tried to get a duplicate copy of my social security card and they won't issue one until my records match theirs. If I don't need a lawyer to switch my first name and middle name, what forms should I request ?from the state?

The Boston tea party revolted because of "Taxation without representation". They were being taxed, yet had no say in government affairs.

Roughly 50% of Americans pay no Federal taxes, and many of those pay very little in State taxes as well. It doesn't seem fair that many of the poor have "representation without taxation".

In other words, it doesn't seem fair that those who pay no taxes can vote to increase the tax burdens of others to increase the services they receive.

(And to put this out there before the criticisms come, I'm not cold-hearted, but I do support a flat-tax system).

ALEXANDRIA, Egypt (Reuters) - An Alexandria court convicted an Egyptian blogger on Thursday for insulting both Islam and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and sentenced him to four years in jail over his writings on the Internet.

Abdel Karim Suleiman, a 22-year-old former law student who has been in custody since November, was the first blogger to stand trial in Egypt for his Internet writings. He was convicted in connection with eight articles he wrote since 2004.

Rights groups and opposition bloggers have watched Suleiman's case closely, and said they feared a conviction could set a legal precedent limiting Internet freedom in Egypt, the Arab world's most populous country.

With the war crimes that Bush has committed coupled with his crimes against the constitution and combined with the complicity of the Democrats and the major media in these crimes, can U.S. democracy survive this deterioration of our key institutions if Bush is not impeached and imprisoned; or will the ruling elite resort to full-blown, police-state fascism to control the public at a time when the needs and desires of that ruling elite run contrary to those of the general public?

I can't even think of any words to justify his even wanting to put his name into the list as replacement to Tony Bliar (sic) other than to make the "contest" look like a Contest and not a landslide for Gordon Brown to take over as New Labour leader/Prime Minister..

Scotland are gearing up to "rule UK".. with Gordon Brown, John Reid, Alistair Darling, Des Browne, Douglas Alexander, already in key cabinet posts..

In England we have Quangos like the South Downs Conservation Board that are a law onto themselves. How do you complain about them. I have written to my MP, but I just get referred to the SDCB and just get the same incomprehensible meaningless drivel which is the cause of the complaint in the first place. Who are the SDCB answerable to? They are not elected. They have no shareholders and AGM.
