you see, for the past almost 2 months, we have been applying to colleges at school. i am actually in this class that is all about getting into college, and i have classmates that have come various walks of life, including "undocumented" students. i personally know every classmate of mine, and i know many of them are illegally in this country....many of them are very intelligent and they have worked hard all our high school years. now, they arent going to be ab;le to get into a university....and as much as im an anti (as some of you may know), i still have a heart and seeing that doesnt make me feel good. many of them have been here since they were only about 2 years old or so, and they have worked hard in school.

but then i think, and i ask myself: WHO should be feeling bad about this?? should i?? should others citizens and legal immigrants be feeling guilty about this? i believe the parents are to blame for this happening to their children. what do you think??

George W. Bush isn't eligible to be elected for a third term as President, but could he theoretically be elected as a Senator, Representative or Governor (or any public office) after he leaves the White House? Up till now ex-Presidents took a role as "elder former statesman" and went on the speaking circuit but since Bush isn't that old so wouldn't it be possible for him to be elected in a different office? Apart from Bill Clinton ex-Presidents usually were at retirement age when leaving office. Bill Clinton didn't seek election in a different office but he has a chance of becoming the first ever "First Lord" of the USA (even though that isn't an official function in the US Government) if his wife becomes the next President.

My neighborhood is starting a community watch. Our neighborhood is really a quiet and a peaceful community. Some of the neighbors there started a community watch because some people moved in and "are causing trouble." One of the cases are that a person's car got stolen. They eventually found the car but not the people who stole it. They found the car just a few blocks away. Another is that someone broke into a person's house during Halloween while they were away. They stole a flat screen tv and jewelry. Recently while on a community watch some of the people review a surveillance tape and found someone stealing chocolate from the local gas station. They want to press charges. I personally think that is going to far. I know the kid who did it and he really doesn't cause much trouble. I think this is just a kid like behavior. Maybe his friends dared him or he just felt compelled to do something like that. I don't think is is worthy of pressing charges on him.

How do you feel about the lack of policy regarding what troops wear in public.
It used to be a regulation that one could not wear BDU's off base and in public unless it was to and from off base quarters.
While traveling, only dress uniforms or civilian clothing were to be worn.
Does the military even issue various dress uniforms anymore?
All I see now is people wearing BDU's and it seems a lot of civilians are now wearing them around town also.

My son is an over the road truck driver leasing his own truck. His wife rides with him, They got word that his father in-law had 24 -to 48 hours to live. So they got in touch with the boss and told him what was happening, he told him to go home and take care of his business, This was on a Sunday night hiis father in-law lasted until Thursday morning. The funeral was that Sunday, Immediately following the funeral my son went to pick up his truck to resume driving, His truck was missing ,He called the main office and was told he needed to speak with the boss who wouldn't be back into the office until the following morning, At 8 am he called the boss which told him he had too many family issues and they were terminating his contract. He told his boss that he was the one who had given him permission to go home in the first place, His boss told him that he did not recall that conversation. This was the only time my son had ever came home due to a family issue or for any other reason.

... or is there no satisfaction to be had? I've been waiting for an important item for weeks... it should have been here a long time ago, having had ample time, and I can confirm that it has been mailed. Is there some sort of complaint form I can fill out, or something else that can be done?

Also... How is it that they can justify raising the price of stamps when they spend millions on advertising, not to mention make tons of profit on collectible stamps? Why the advertising? Who DOESN'T know about the US Postal service? Is it just me or is there something wrong with this picture?

Do you believe that the gun bans in cities like Chicago and DC work? If so, shouldn't you feel safe walking through the city at night knowing you can't get shot cause guns are illegal? Or, will criminals always have guns and all the gun ban does is prevent the law abiding citizen from having them?

When in fact big business is shoveling more money than ever into Democratic political campaigns.

Democrats are benefiting more than Republicans from the surge in big business donations, with 57 percent of giving from typical big business donors going to Democrats.

Seems kind of hypocritical of Liberals.

What say you?
