I think Obama is a great candidate. I think his heart is in the right place. He would be my very next choice...but...many african americans will only be voting for him because of the color of his skin. Does this make any sense? I think Obama has great potential but he doesnt have any experience. i think it is ridiculous...though i like him very much...to only vote for him because he is black! what do you think?

I decided to fight a speeding ticket I received. I've been free from any tickets in the past 15-18 months and normally drive the speed limit and I honestly made a mistake this time. I have an informal hearing with the magistrate at the local police department. What can I expect when talking with her and should I wear a skirt?

All she has to do is give thumbs up to a book, and it becomes a best seller overnight. Many of her followers will vote for Obama, right or wrong, just on her word.

I'm trying to order a customized NAVY ring for my bf for Christmas @ walmart.com. I'm trying to decide what designs to put on the side (symbols) & don't know what to put. My bf is graduating from training and is going to be on the Navy ship. He's not sure what his position on there is and I don't want to get the wrong symbols for the ring. Please help!

thank you!

I'll be the first to admit, I love clicking little news stories and developing elaborate opinions on issues. The Iraq War,
the Middle East, political science, elections, religion...

But I've actually done very little academic reading in any of these fields. I don't read books devoted to these topics. My knowledge is completely anecdotal.

And based on nearly all posts on Y! Answers, for example, it appears as though most people are in my boat. Nobody's citing actual literature written by anyone credible. And it seems like the people who still take a walk to the public library in order to inform themselves tend to be so introverted anyway that their knowledge only increases their salary, but isn't professed to the more ignorant masses.

Has the internet made it too easy to gain cheap mass media knowledge of issues and then form super strong opinions?

How do we correct this?

Hi, I'm a freshman at Stony Brook University, and in a way I feel like I've missed out on something great. I had not really begun to consider a military academy until senior year in highschool, which made it too late to apply to. Then near the end of senior year my family had dissauded me from going, making me miss another chance to write for a congressional appointment, and apply. Now I'm in my first year of college and its the beginning of December. I feel that if I apply this spring, by the time I am accepted and join the academy (if I am), I will have already wasted 2 years of college and will have to start over because all the academies require 4 years no matter what. I would be 20 by the time I get in. Is this a wise decision? I know that if I'm called to do it I should follow my instinct, but is there anyway that those 2 "wasted" years of college benefit me in an academy? will I feel out of place as a 20 year old freshman? I wish to apply to USMA. Any advice is great.

That White voters shouldn't vote for him because he doesn't "understand them" well enough? She can't actually be serious with the Obvious race baiting, can she?

Is race really a criteria by which to choose a President? To rational people obviously not.

Alright so I have had a stalker trying to ruin my life for the past two months. But I am not being assertive and standing up to myself!!! I called the police and he said he is "very interested" becuase when I told him about how my stalker begs me for adderall and he deals adderall to girls at my school he sounded interested. Ok, so I know the stalkers myspace password, and in there are messages that say to girls "hey wanna come by and pick up the adderall" and things like "hey i have that adderall to give you 10mg" and he says "boy I sure am hyper since taking this adderall!" HE IS NOT PRESCRIBED ADDERALL. Would this be enough proof for the officer that he is dealing adderall? Would the officer think I am bad for knowing his email password? Also I am going to the counselor at school to get help!!! Do you think I have a chance. The stalker said he would just turn it around and say I am giving him adderall. could the cops believe his screwed up story?

That means you will earn your own way. Why do people think that I as a God fearing person should pay for their medicine or housing when they are not earning their keep per the bible and then have the never to say since I will not give into their extortion I am not a Christian?

It is a false dilemma at best two (2) options are given and there are clearly better alternatives, like I keep what I earn.

I am personally pro-death penalty. I believe that some people just need to die, and I don't pretend to be all righteous about it.
But I am also righting an editorial for my English class, and I need to see the opposite view. Unfortunately, most of the people in my class are pro-death, so I came here. What are your opinions on the death penalty?
Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
