Alright so I have had a stalker trying to ruin my life for the past two months. But I am not being assertive and standing up to myself!!! I called the police and he said he is "very interested" becuase when I told him about how my stalker begs me for adderall and he deals adderall to girls at my school he sounded interested. Ok, so I know the stalkers myspace password, and in there are messages that say to girls "hey wanna come by and pick up the adderall" and things like "hey i have that adderall to give you 10mg" and he says "boy I sure am hyper since taking this adderall!" HE IS NOT PRESCRIBED ADDERALL. Would this be enough proof for the officer that he is dealing adderall? Would the officer think I am bad for knowing his email password? Also I am going to the counselor at school to get help!!! Do you think I have a chance. The stalker said he would just turn it around and say I am giving him adderall. could the cops believe his screwed up story?

You could possibly be sued in civil court by him even if he is busted.

Providing the police with the password is not necessarily wrong, however, they DO require a search warrant to go into that persons emails.

There's no sense in doing that unless there is a time constraint as they can still get the same information through the internet provider...again...with a search warrant or subpoena.

My suggestion is you delete this person from your "friend list" and move on to more responsible and caring friends. My experience is he's attempting to get closer to you for more than just general interests and friendships.

Might be a good time to use the wisdom and knowledge your parents have also by talking to them.

Best wishes.

Don't give the police the email password. In fact you do not need to give any police any password. The police, if it a real police officer, he/she can get that information on their own and even contact the ISP and/or the FBI-cyber-space crimes.

You need to check the credentials of this so-called police officer.

that's extremely good that you have a third party-your school counselor- to discuss this situation your in.

If he gave you the password, it's his mistake!
