I think Obama is a great candidate. I think his heart is in the right place. He would be my very next choice...but...many african americans will only be voting for him because of the color of his skin. Does this make any sense? I think Obama has great potential but he doesnt have any experience. i think it is ridiculous...though i like him very much...to only vote for him because he is black! what do you think?

im afraid that if obama gets nominated...that is exactly what the republicans would want....they wouldnt feel any competition because (even though i dont care a bit about color) many american voters are not ready for an african american president....(btw...my family is bi-racial...both black and white)....another thing is i am afraid that if he DID win...someone might take a shot at him...that would be horrible!

besides all that ....if i thought he had a chance at winning...i would definitely vote for him because i like his issues that is backing...better than hillary's but...im afraid they are too good to be true...to hard to make what he purposes happen...too much bearucratic red tape.

VOTE TO KEEP AMERICA SAFE

2007-11-26 09:22:29 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 1 1

Voting for any reasons besides a candidate's stand on issues and experience is foolish. African Americans, women, and other minorities should stop and think about their choice. Should they get their way and get their minority into office and that candidate does a horrible job, it could ruin their future opportunities for years. I'm not saying that a minority cannot do a great job nor am I saying that Obama or Hillary will do poorly as president.

Besides, voting on the basis of just gender is sexist even if it is voting for a woman just as voting for a certain skin color is racist even if you are voting for a minority.

No, because I have only ever voted for one good looking candidate: Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin.

I vote for the person that I think is most qualified and will do the best job - no matter the race, gender, or even political party.

I think some people will vote for him because of that reason but I vote by looking at what the person stands for and compare to what I believe in - That's how I know people should vote

From what I've heard from black women I know, gender trumps race, they are voting for Hillary because she is a woman. White women I know are the same. Hopefully Oprah will change their minds. Personally I like John Edwards. On issues, in case anyone wonders.

Of course it's stupid, but many voters do vote that way. You are right...he needs more experience and would be a great candidate in 2012. When a country is at war, experience is crucial in making decisions. I'd like to see Joe Biden get the nomination since he has more foreign affairs experience than the other candidates.

I'm voting Obama because I like what he stands for. His race is a nonissue. And the fact that he's gorgeous is just a plus :)

I think it is very important for the African American community to finally see a black person at the head of the nation. I am voting for him because of his lack of governmentatl experience (brainwashing) and what he stands for.

I believe that he lacks the experience necessary to run the country. I think he needs a little more backbone. The other choices for the Democrats are all pretty glum. We have a socialist and a vain individual. As opposed to the seasoned leaders that the republicans seem to have. Its a scary fact of life. The Democratic party has nothing to offer this time around and it is refreshing.
