Basically it means that if you are convicted of a felony and have prior felony convictions that you get 5 additional years on your sentence for each past felony. It also indicates that probation may not be given to reduce the sentence.

I am afraid David did not check the subdivision carefully. While PC 667(a) provides for a 5-year enhancement, the reference to PC 667(d) indicates that a prior strike is being alleged. The reference to PC 667(e)(1) indicates that only one prior is being alleged, which means that the sentence on the current offense will be doubled. PC 1170.12(c)(1) is to the same effect.
