I was taking my 2 year old daughter to a birthday party today and in my friend's neighborhood and so I parked my car on my friend's street (they live in a subdivision) and naturally their driveway was full. This very rude lady asked me if I lived around here and I told her I was going to my friends house (I even told her who they were) for a birthday party and she told me (very evil-like that I couldn't park in front of her house. I am a really nice person so I moved the car, but I thought that if it is a public street I have a right to park on it as long as I am not obstructing the mailbox or driveway. We were there for a child's party....for goodness sake. I really wanted to tell her off, mostly because of the way she spoke to me...but now just out of principal I just want to know my rights...there were no signs saying no parking or anything. Does anyone know the answer? Was I doing anything illegal?

Do we just accept that the opinion of the government is more informed and better than our own ? That because they are better paid better educated better fed and better housed than ourselves that they also know better how to spend the money you gave them and the resources you prduced for them ?
That the government is right to ignore the people from time to tiime - even though the people are the wealth of the nation because there is no way the masses could make these decisons without the upper class corperations lawyers and other "pro's" ?
Why is it we the people are in constant deferrment to the governng body and how have we changed since the old days of Kings - Isn't today's government a spit in the face to all those who fought wars on our behalf to gain just the tiniest bits of freedoms from our masters ?
70 % of the population wants out of Iraq in the US 66 % of Cdns want out of Afganistan the government who makes up less than 1/2 a % wants to "stay the course" We pay we die

So the federal government can listen to my phone calls, look at every website I visit, and read all of my emails if I'm corresponding with someone in another country and they don't need a court order. They can also listen to my phone calls and read all of my emails with people inside the US if they get a court order, right? Does anyone have any idea how many people the government employs to do that and how many people they spy on (I'm just wondering how much taxpayer money we spend on spying on ourselves).

Im about to go into the Army, i wanna get into the medical field. Im tired of using student loans to further my education, and one of the reasons i wanna go in the Army, is the GI bill, they will pay for your education, ive also heard that they will repay your government student loans over time.
MY question is this, i heard and have some great concerns that everyone tells me that while on active duty you will NEVEr have time to goto college, or take classes. Has anyone bee in the miltary and attended college, or tried, how did it work? WIll i have time. Whats the point of going into the army to help with education, if you never have time. Any advice would be appreciated. thank you. HAs anyone had there student loans repaid?

People on Yahoo Answers are just being incredibly ugly! I rarely see any kind of analysis of her opinions, record or positions. It's just name calling, insults and profanity. Do her opponents really have nothing intelligent to say? Is their fury just impotent lashing out at her almost certain victory?

My son was a victim of armed robbery a couple of nights ago. The 17 year old took fifty dollars from my son and held him at gun point. The kid picked the wrong person because my son is very observant and was able to pick him out of the school's yearbooks the next morning. He was caught and arrested. If we choose to prosecute (which the state will do anyhow) my son will have to face this criminal. I'm concerned that if his friends are present then they may come after my son and do God knows what! What is your advice?

I posted a similar question on the day this man was executed by the police, after watching the video. I was berated by people who said I did not know all the facts..and should wait. others praised the cops and made fun of a man who was visiting Canada from Poland.. Fair enough.. more information the Man had been in the airport for 10 hours, and could not get help in Polish, and therefore could not find is mum, who had left the airport after being told her son was not in the Airport, The man broke a computer and threw a chair in frustration. evident from the amateur video. The Canadian police confiscated the video, a clear sign of guilt. but after the owner of the camera complained the cops gave back the camera. the the cops claimed the man attacked them, clearly a lie if you watch the video, the autopsy reveals he was not on drugs and died from heart Attack induced by the taser. 241 deaths by taser in 2007. yes he was upset and tired and afraid. So was this man executed?

This is pretty interesting. I think she did have extremely poor judgement. Do you think she should lose her opportunity for this big promotion..?

I personally think this blew it for her. Someone like this should NOT be in such a high profile position - just my own humble opinion.
