The election of senators used to be in the hands of politicans. That is how the constitution originally had it. It was changed by progressives so that now they are elected by the people.

my wife is deep into a book about a Detective Inspector, she asked me the other day what one was. It's such an easy thing for me to grasp that for some reason, I can't explain it. I've tried looking everywhere online but I can't find an answer yet. Anyone out there who has any idea, please lay it out for me so I can shut her up so she can stop assuming that just because 2 words are together like that it doesn't mean that it's a mistake not caught in the editing process. thank you.

This question recently popped up in one of my classes and it really got me wondering. Here is a married couple that has been married for 12 years. Say you are a doctor and you have to test thier new born child for some sort of genetic disorder. Upon doing so, you discover that the child is not the father's. Do you inform the father or speak to the wife about the child not being his, or do you just give them the results of the test? Say it being a genetic disorder they were testing for and the child did have it but neither of the married couple had it, what would you say then?

HITLER was responsible for killing thousands of people...making him a murderer.

Well...
George W. Bush is responsible for millions of deaths...thousands of families that have lost a father, a mother...or both.

Does that not make him a murderer?

Or is he "special" because he is the president?
Is it considered "the right thing" because he is a political figure?
Because if that is your agrument, then so was Saddam! And Osama! In their countires, they were considered political figures...do our twin towers going down that horrible day was for the greater good?

If the law states that if a president commits murder...then he loses his presidency...then why is Bush still president?

"Because he has not actually killed them HIMSELF!"

...But he as good as did!
He ordered it to be done.

yes, there were some scientists, but there was definitely no consensus. VERY few scientists believed in that -- so few there was not a single commission on the subject. no offense, but anyone who uses this argument (that most scientists believed in global cooling in the 70s) sounds seriously misinformed.

p.s. and for those that claim al gore "invented [the theory of] global warming", this is also not possible. AGW was predicted in 1898, half a century before al gore was born.

This is what i have so far.

2) Characters - The characters in this cartoon are the SCHIP Children and the Elephants which represents the Republican Party, which also represnts President George Bush in my oppinion.
3) Symbols - There are four symbols in this cartoon. The first symbol is the "SCHIP" children,who are standing in a line to spell out SCHIP,then next to that there is a bunch of flowers that spell out "expansion" which if you put it together says "SCHIP Expansion." The seconed symbol is the sword that says "Veto" that is pointing at the children meaning President bush vetoed the plan. The third symbol is the sign that says "NO Socialized Medicine" That also means that if you get health insurence from the goverment then you can't go there, they don't allow it. the fou

I have a warrant and I called downtown and they said that if I come down there then they'll put me on a docket and I wont be arrested... And then they said that if I come and pay my bail then I wont be arrested. I have no Idea... Does anyone else know if I go downtown and ask for a court date if they will arrest me? I live in columbus, ohio. Please if you have any information please help me. My warrant if for writing 2 bad checks to the same place under $500.00. It was in 2004 and was not on purpose, I was 18 and I split up with my hubby and didnt know they was no money in the bank. Thank you.

Hey, I voted for Bush twice. I am a capitalist, and have voted Republican since I was 18. (I am now 30).
Do you know that our freedoms are being taken away on a daily basis? Are you ok with this? We live in a f*cking safety nazi society, and every one of you who thinks 9/11 really happened the way Bush said it did, where is YOUR proof?
You think that the most resourceful, powerful government in the world is incapable of tricking you, especially the ones who are "on their side"? Extremely plausable.
Did you know, their are only 8 concealed weapons permits in San Francisco? What happened to the right to bear arms?
This is only the tip of the iceberg. Why are we so content with paying so many taxes? I mean, we are taxed out the a*s in almost every aspect of our lives. But, this is ok with you people? What sad little people you are. When things REALLY get bad, what are you going to do then? Where are we headed. All you Bush supporters seem to know it all. Please, enlighten me.
