my daughter's father & I have shared joint custody, he is constantly calling me and harrassing me, hanging up on me if he doesn't like my replies, and will absolutely NOT compromise with me on anything concerning our 9 month old daughter. He has her way more than I do, because I work during the week, and he doesn't work at all. He refuses to get a job during the day because he would lose time with her. Everything he does is to get to me. Last night he called my phone 26 times before knocking on the door. My phone was outside, I was inside. He threatens me all the time, I'm just tired of it. He kicked me out of our home when i was 9 months pregnant, when i confronted him about cheating on me. Last week he told me he wants to be a family again, this week we argued on the phone and he told me it would be our last conversation. I don't know what to do. Help!

Greenspan clarifies Iraq war and oil link

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Clarifying a controversial comment in his new memoir, former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan said he told the White House before the Iraq war that removing Saddam Hussein was "essential" to secure world oil supplies, according to an interview published on Monday.

"I was not saying that that's the administration's motive," Greenspan said in the interview conducted on Saturday. "I'm just saying that if somebody asked me, 'Are we fortunate in taking out Saddam?' I would say it was essential."

I work in a law office and it's just me and my boss, the lawyer. He's a complete dick to me. I have no room for advancement and there is nobody higher up than him. Everyday, he points out little mistakes that I've made, even when they're his mistakes. Just today he asked me to get him a copy of a mortgage, and when I came back with it, he asked me why I made a copy of the mortgage. When I replied that he had asked for it, he said he never said such a thing. But this has happened every day for the past year and a half, and I can't find another job because I'm lacking in experience... Any suggestions? Keep in mind I've confronted him about this before and asked that I be treated like some sort of dignified human, and not a dog, and he responded that he didn't know what I meant.

"George Bush's presidency has been distinguished by nothing so much as his consistent disregard for the Constitution.

He wages war without required Congressional declarations.

He orders spying that is in direct conflict with the 4th Amendment. He permits tortures and extraordinary renditions that violate the 8th Amendment,

Above all, the President disregards the basic requirement of shared governance. He shows little respect for the separation of powers, let alone for the system of checks and balances that requires Congress to participate in domestic and foreign-policy decision making. "

What do the Yahoo population in the US feel about the status of the Constitution in the light of the Bush Administration. I'm curious how republican's feel, as I perceived (from Ireland) that they held the constitution as almost sancrosanct? (right to bear arms et al?)

**First off, I know this doesn't belong in the Politics section but I DO prefer the views and opinions of the politics users (from any political spectrum.) Thanks**

I just read an article (see above) that says that some cities are starting to crack down on people who wear sagging pants. Some say it is a good idea, others say it is an example of racial profiling (young black men are more often than not the ones you see with the saggy pants.)

Do you think law enforcement officials are overeacting?

CHECK OUT HOW A LOUISIANA TOWN IS HANDLING IT:
Proposals to ban saggy pants are starting to ride up in several places. At the extreme end, wearing pants low enough to show boxers or bare buttocks in one small Louisiana town means six months in jail and a $500 fine.

Your thoughts please? Thanks!

My program will require EVERYONE to change their oil in their car every 3 months or 3000 miles. If you go 3 months and a day, or 3001 miles, the money will be deducted from your pay and you will be FORCED to get an oil change.

If you don't own a car, don't worry. If you can afford one, you will be required to purchase one, or the money will be deducted from your pay (the amount of a new Cadillac) and you will get an old Ford Pinto. If you cannot afford one, the government will buy you a new Cadillac for you every 3 years.

Can I count on your vote?

Its not a crime to be in the US illegally. You will not receive jail time unless you actually commit a crime. I dont understand the logic of some people to say its a crime when its not considered a crime by the laws of this country.

Congress has broad plenary authority to determine classes of aliens who may be
admitted into the United States and the grounds for which they may be removed.
Pursuant to the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), as amended, certain conduct
may either disqualify an alien from entering the United States (“inadmissibility”) or
provide grounds for his or her removal/deportation. Prominently included among
this conduct is criminal activity. “Criminal activity” comprises acts violative of
federal, state, or, in many cases, foreign criminal law. It does not cover violations of
the INA that are not crimes — most notably, being in the U.S. without legal
permission. Thus, the term “illegal alien” — an alien without legal status — is not
synonymous with “criminal alien.”

I know a lot of people don't want to "throw away their vote" on a third-party candidate. But just suppose that the system changed to make it easier for a third-party candidate to get into office, or Nader got the nomination of a major party. If Ralph Nader were a viable option, would you want him as president and why or why not?
