I usually use flat rate boxes - they can weigh up to 70 pounds and only cost $9.15. It's a pretty good deal because if you're mailing more than two pounds, you'd be paying more for the postage. You can get the boxes at the post office (there are two different sizes) and they're free.

I'm not exactly sure how much it is for any certain weight. My husband is currently in Iraq, and I send him a few packages every month. If you go online to usps.com, you can get flat rate boxes for free. Generally, each size has it's own price to send, no matter the weight. My packages usually cost a little over $8 to send. Your post office may even be able to give you some flat rate boxes, mine did.
Good luck. Hope I helped a little.

depend on weight, flat weight boxes are good. I have sent some HEAVY ones and with the ins it cost me as much as 30 bucks, if he is military and deployed and it is an apo or fpo its priced as domestic ( meaning in U.S.A.) DOES NOT matter what country. You use same postage as domestic, depending on weight. You will have to fill out the custom forms though which is no biggy. Hope this helps. Also you can call the post office and if you are mailing the deployed military they will send you free boxes , tape, label, custom form so you will have everything . Then when you run out you call again and reorder for FREE. Girl on top right

Use the flat rate boxes. They are just over $8 and ship priority (though that only matters for the first half of the trip) You can get them in combination with the customs forms at usps.com for free. You can get free tape to use on them too.
