The government as a whole is not. It's the idiots that I have to work along side that are evil and ignorant.

US Govt employee 18+ years

No. But I think it has been pretty much bought by military, oil and media corporations who do not have an agenda that is very useful to the American people.

Government is useful, unless you think you don't need cops and firemen and public schools, in which event, hey... go live in a hut.

That said, I think that the corporations, by having the unchecked and barely mentioned power that they do have tended to make more and more decisions that impact us all in very negative ways.

I don't have too many more years on this planet, and I plan to use them making people aware of the fact that they've lost control of the government. The bad boys can't really do much more to me than they already have, short of silencing me with death squads... which may sound absurd to you, but strikes me as inevitable, given the trend toward fascism.

Assuming you refer to the US Government. No, not at the present time, except for a few officials on the left. That might just change in 2008

Government is necessary but should be limited in scope as prescribed by the Constitution. The farther it wanders from the limits of the Constitution, no matter how well intentioned, the greater the evil.

I would not say evil. We have the WORST Congress ever, according to all approval polls... SINGLE DIGITS.
That's disgraceful.
But I wouldn't say evil.
Inept? Misguided? Self-serving? You folks have used some great adjectives for them.
I'd add ARROGANT.
But not evil.
