"George Bush's presidency has been distinguished by nothing so much as his consistent disregard for the Constitution.

He wages war without required Congressional declarations.

He orders spying that is in direct conflict with the 4th Amendment. He permits tortures and extraordinary renditions that violate the 8th Amendment,

Above all, the President disregards the basic requirement of shared governance. He shows little respect for the separation of powers, let alone for the system of checks and balances that requires Congress to participate in domestic and foreign-policy decision making. "

What do the Yahoo population in the US feel about the status of the Constitution in the light of the Bush Administration. I'm curious how republican's feel, as I perceived (from Ireland) that they held the constitution as almost sancrosanct? (right to bear arms et al?)

Our constitution has been effectively nullified. Which is the greatest tragedy in American history. The patriot act, the terrorist security act, the increasing police state. Global Empires are growing, and the stock piling of precious resources continues to stock their bunkers and storerooms. Repeal the Patriot act at the local level and fight against tyrants and say no when the new world order unleashes their nuclear weapons and blame it on Iran.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot." - Mark Twain

9-11 Was an inside job, get the facts! Understand Iran is the next target for the New World Order, research Iranian history! Iran is going to be painted as a terrorist and nuclear state.
Israel never signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty of 1970, Iran did. So Iran is subject to UN inspectors whereas Israel is not. Israel is a nuclear nation. The United States for the past 50 years has been arming the neighboring nations of Iran. Conveniently everyone seemed to forget, the U.S. helped arm the Taliban and Iraq. So basically any nation that seeks to arm itself as a means of protection is an "enemy". This is a strategic move to get the American public in a fear frenzy so the NWO can move in and further stock pile resources for their own precious gain(and before eveyone goes "OH WE NEED DAT STUFF" relize how many of the resources that were stolen from Iraq that no one will ever see, and then think about it as if Facists from another nation came in and stole your nations resources.) Also Iran had its own DEMOCRATICALLY elected leader in the 1950's Mohammed Mossadeq who wouldnt allow British Petroleum (BP) a monopoly on their oil fields. So the CIA helped overthrow this elected leader and put in the Shah, along with helping form the iranian secret police. Get the facts people dont let the New World Order's social engineers control your mind with their version of manufactured crisis and fear.

The constitution has been incrementally diluted since the time it was written and is vestigal at best.
Unfortunately, both parties want globalization in the form of NAU.
Dems want new voters on the dole through amnesty and Reps want cheap labor to exploit.
The constitution can be circumvented through the NAU supernational government.
A recent example is Mexican truckers on US roads. The government when confronted by unions on this issue claimed the Nafta judges make the decision and they can't do anything about it.
The problem is much bigger than your myopic Bushes fault mindset. Members of both parties are in on this-the same ones that are pushing the new amnesty(dream act) next week.

thank you for asking this question.. i think i can say the constitution is still were it was and is doing well.

However i think the content and the meaning of the Constitution is not faring well at all.

thanks to the great Tyrant Dictator king, His royal highness Pharaoh majestic lord emperor chief G W BUSH , The H.M.F.I.C ruler of the world and known universe. is steadily eroding its meaning and governing rule of the land.

Once he is done with it, It will be a far flung memory that only the ones who support the **** will even think it still exists.

What you say in your statement is 100% true and correct. though some here dont agree. at least for now there is still a bit of free speach left in the USA so all may speak thier minds.

that is untill they find out what thier leader is realy up too.

its a shame that such a wonderful and great nation is being so distroyed by one self absorbed dictator. i hope the great American people wake up and catch this before it is to late for them

In that we are not in the midst of an armed revolt and for the most part, enjoy the same freedoms we always have,I would say the Constitution is working out just fine. The examples you sited have been challenged through our process(the Supreme Court). While some may not agree with the decision,it still stands.
Part of the glory of our system of government,is that decisions may be challenged and additional laws may be passed to correct a perceived error.
While the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are wonderful documents, either may be changed through our political process as developing times and the will of the people require.

I think the sickest thing of all is that they've apparently managed to convince some people that what they're doing is right, and we have to give up our rights to be safe. It's not true, we didn't have to give up our civil liberties and Bush's whole credo about "don't question the government, I have information you don't, blah, blah, blah" is the most UN-patriotic thing I've ever heard. He's set this country so far back, I pray we can recover.

As much as Bush tries to trample the Constitution it still stands the test of time. Once he leaves office the horrible steps he took to reduce liberty will be reinstated and America can go back to The Home of the Free and the Land of the Brave.
Not cowards waiting for Bush to make them "feel" more secure.

It has been being ignored for decades - Bush is hardly the first to prefer international law over the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Don't you have enough to do in Ireland without worrying about us? Care to take in 40 million illegals?

The members, who have time, of my Ron Paul for President, meet-up group are handing out free copies of the U. S. Constitution, at the busy intersections around the small towns in my area today,,,,along with Ron Paul's opinions on the issues.
Thanks for the question.

Not American, but often am in US and I do agree with you.

Also do not his signing statements undermine the roles of the legislature? And be aware he has set himself up to declare martial law if something happens before the next election. See NSPD-51 and HSPD-20, which he signed, with no press statement, on May 9 of this year. Pray nothing 'happens', Americans.
