recently a family member was accused of assault. In all his years of life he has never been in trouble with the law, never been arrested. He and his girlfriend get into an argument, she pokes her finger in his face and is screaming at him and then picks the phone up as to hit him with it and in his defense he pins her against the wall to keep her from hitting him with the phone and she calls 911. He leaves. He never struck her or hit her in any way, and also she has no marks, redness or bruises, but yet she still takes warrant/charges for assault against him. There were no signs of struggle or any ill act, but yet he stills gets arrested and put in jail and now faces court, court cost and fines and a smear on his until now clean record. What does a man do to prove his innocence or at least prove self defense? What does she have to prove? or do the police just take her word for it b/c she's a woman?

My ex g/f of 9 years broke up with me about a year ago. Eight months ago she met a felon on parole. Every month since she has been trying to get back with me. She came over July 5 at 3am but didn't have the guts to knock at door. I saw her snooping around. August 11, she text mailed me that she loved me. Alrighty I says, come on over. On the way over she tells me that she is pregnant. Being stupid, by being very much in love with her, I decided to take her back. We made love many times and then she got an abortion (no one else knows, and no I don't plan to tell). The final week we were together she was apprehensive about "us". Why? I don't know. A week later she didn't want to be together. Fine. Two days later she calls about missing "her" baby at the felon's apartment. Ok. She didn't know what to do. I told her to go back to her dad's house. She did. Three days later I heard nothing from her. I looked for her and found her at the felon's apartment.........

Additional Details

She wouldn't answer her phone. The night before we were talking about what we would do with our kids. Anyway, the following day she called the cops on me for bother her without me knowing where she was. No one knew where she was. So, I called the my city cops and filed a No Trepassing letter and mailed it to her. She did the same. She called the cops on me before for no reason.

Do all of you think it is finally over? I hope so. I don't want someone after being the great friend and lover after all this time.

Clinton's proposal is now called the "American Health Choices Plan." It would cost about $110 billion a year.

The centerpiece is called the "Individual Mandate," which would require every American to carry health insurance, with subsidies for the poor.
http://cbs2chicago.com/local/local_story_260122420.html

Is this like the Dream Act or any of the other amnesty bills that sound good on the surface until you read the fine print? The poor receive free healthcare now.

If her plan is so good, why isn't she introducing it now when she can vote on it? Is it because she can't raise the US tax dollars to fund this $110 billion required health plan she proposes?

The government would have access to everyone's personal information. Now how would they keep track of you? Step 2 seems that it just might involve VeriChip for the Real ID program to be implemented - to acquire your personal information through a chip implant.

Who would have access to your personal health information?

Basically, the time period they are stating that the events occur are not adding up. They basically told me a number of weeks and the months that it happen, but the weeks are not adding up with the number of months. Even with that, the months they are claiming I did this I was attending college. So, what do I need to do to clear the matter up? Because they have sent me a letter saying I need to pay them this amount of money that I feel I don't own them.

On Memorial Day weekend, Phoenix police responded to a shots-fired call at this alleged drug stash house. They found three victims bound with plastic garbage bags and tape around their heads. Two had been shot, one fatally.

Nearly two months later, Phoenix police arrested Demetro Acosta- Uribe, an illegal alien with four prior felony convictions and at least three deportations to Mexico since 1988. He was caught trying to cross the border on two other occasion. Now, he's charged with eight new felonies, including first-degree murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, drug and weapons crimes.

Maricopa County's prosecutor is seeking the death penalty.

ANDREW THOMAS, MARICOPA COUNTY ATTORNEY: It just seems that this guy was a career criminal who was virtually going back and forth across the border at will. And it just shows a complete breakdown in our border control process. And it shows the direct connection which I have argued all along between illegal immigration and our crime problem.

WIAN: Immigration and Customs Enforcement says the Acosta case is also an example of improved cooperation between federal and local law enforcement. ICE agents helped Phoenix police apprehend the suspect, ho told investigators he last crossed the border near desolate Lukeville, Arizona.

The police report says Acosta admitted being at the crime scene, claimed the victims kidnapped him previously. And when asked why they were killed or nearly killed, he allegedly said they deserved it. Still, the prosecutor's office says he pleaded not guilty at his arraignment last month.

Acosta's case is no aberration. According to a 2005 Government Accountability Office study, incarcerated illegal aliens were charged with 84,000 violent crimes, including nearly 6,000 murders. Thirty- eight percent had been arrested between two and five times. Thirty- two percent had six to 10 arrests. And 26 percent were arrested more than 11 times.

ICE says it has doubled the number of criminal illegal alien deportations in the past year. Still the agency is searching for 600,000 fugitives who have defied deportation orders, many of whom also are wanted as suspects in other crimes.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

WIAN: The public defender representing Acosta declined to comment on the case, as did the Mexican government, which opposes the death penalty -- Kitty.

PILGRIM: Casey, that's a shocking case. But 84,000 violent crimes and 6,000 murders? These numbers are astonishing.

WIAN: It really is astonishing. And it just absolutely shows that those who want amnesty for virtually all illegal aliens are basically saying they want these kind of folks to be able to stay in the country as well

Below, Hillary says how health insurance will be paid for those still uninsured.

Can any of you guess how the businesses will pass on the cost?

And when she says the wealthy should help defray the cost...anyone want to guess what the definition of "wealthy" is?

She called for a requirement for businesses to obtain insurance for employees, and said the wealthy should pay higher taxes to help defray the cost for those less able to pay for it. She put the government's cost at $110 billion a year.

"Perhaps more than anybody else I know just how hard this fight will be," said the New York senator.

Dismissing the inevitable Republican criticism, Clinton admonished the crowd. "I know my Republican opponents will try to equate health care for all Americans with government-run health care. Don't let them fool us again. This is not government-run

In Tennessee, the ban to stop smoking restaurants was passed. Starting October 1st, the law will be enforced in restaurants all across the state. How do you feel as a smoker / non smoker? Does a restaurant not having a smoking section hurt their business? What do you think?

I know my husband smokes, I don't. I can't wait to sit in restaurant and not have my allergies go nuts because of the smoke. But on the other hand, I feel bad for my husband, its like he is being punished.

How do you all feel about non smoking restaurants? Is is the governments right to do this? Or should they butt out?
