"...British bank rocked by panic withdrawals..."

Anxious customers of British bank Northern Rock rushed to withdraw their savings Friday, forming lengthy queues in front of branches after the lender was bailed out by the Bank of England.

Shares in Northern Rock, which issued a profits warning on Friday, plunged 31.46 percent to 438 pence at the close, dragging the European banking sector lower as investors fretted over potential difficulties elsewhere.

The Bank of England (BoE) on Friday came to the rescue of Britain's fifth-biggest home loan provider, which said it was facing severe difficulties raising cash to cover its liabilities amid the ongoing global credit squeeze.

I bought a vehicle from a private seller on a Tuesday, it was fine that night, Wednesday, then Thursday I had to take it to Tom Wood because it was leaking antifreeze, I dropped it off there, they called me and told me that I needed to have repairs done which cost $850, I told them to do it because I needed my car and had no other choice, so they did the repairs and I picked it up on Friday, I emailed the guy that I bought it from, he insists that there was NOTHING wrong with the car, that Tom Woods trying to rip me off (which they aren't, they showed me the piece and everything) so I email him and tell him that and he doesn't respond... There is nothing I can do besides take it to court and fork out tons of money to possibly loose because of AS IS correct?? {{I could never do this to someone, but there are some scum bags out there that do not care...}} =(

they seem to focus on global warming, health care, and the economy, as if there were no no other pressing issues.... does leaving Iraq mean the terrorists will be so happy they will not intensify efforts over here, in USA.?

You would think, in a country that routinely lectures others about democracy, that the government would at least notice when 70% of the country opposes its policy.

But the lies go on, and the war goes on, in blissful ignorance of the wishes of the American people.

I'm going Active Army for 4 years and I took an intelligence position that is entry level. It's important for me to get into intelligence and it's the only position (I have interest in) available anytime within the next year. I would like to know people's experience switching jobs as I'm most interested in an agent position. Maybe I could at the end of my 4 years or maybe just before? Any input is helpful! Thank you!

If the military is made up of mostly Conservatives who don't feel supported by the Democrats or anyone who opposes the Iraq War (aka Occupation), then why are they giving more money to the campaigns of Barack Obama and Ron Paul than they are anyone else?

Intelligent, analytical responses from Bush Supporters are welcome and appreciated.

I ask with respect to former US/UK ally Indonesian President Suharto's overthrow by the US & UK- (which we have ample documentary evidence detailing funding of subversives and other political parties & thugs).

which gave rise to Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) terrorsit being able to re-emerge as a major terrorists threat- culminating in the deaths of your own countrymen. Had Suharto been left in power- these terrorists would have simply vanished off the planet by our Special Forces.

I quote: "JI was formally founded on 1 January 1993 by DI leaders, Abu Bakar Bashir and Abdullah Sungkar while hiding in Malaysia from the persecution of the Suharto Government."

Furthermore under our new President General Yudhoyono- we have arrested and killed many militants including: Abu Dujana, Hambali and Zarkasih.
Some others we chose to simply detonate and let them see their beloved Allah, after their scraps were eaten by village dogs.

Will you now allow General Suharto to rule my nation even if by proxy?
