dgroundhog65, Democrats are corrupt,anti-American pieces of filth? Why don't you try taking off the neocon glasses for just a moment ? That is the most absurd, rediculous statement ever on YA, and that encompasses a lot of absurdity. Nice broad brush approach, Mr. Hitler.
To the questioner, perhaps Democrats love this country, and want to protect her, too, but don't have faith in the current administration. Why should they ? This administration has us involved in a war that they cannot justify. Fighting a war in Iraq is NOT making our country safer, it's just serving to piss off more of the world at us. But I suppose in your opinion, me saying these things makes me anti-American, even though I am neither Muslim, nor a Democrat.

I wonder why they're plotting. Our war has been responsible for displacing about 4 million of them, as well as killing about 100,000 of them. As well as over 3,700 of our own.
We're spending 3 billion dollars a week for a war in a country of about 20 million, while ignoring the needs of our own people. Let that sink in for a moment.
And have I mentioned yet that we have emboldened Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the Iranians by getting rid of Saddam? That Al Qaeda in Iraq didn't exist before we went over there? That just about the only Muslim sect who is happy we are over there are the Kurds, since we really aren't doing much damage to their people?
Notice I said WE. Yes I know Saddam gassed the Kurds and we liberated them. But I'm pretty sure they'd like us out, as well as the Sunnis and the Shi'a would. We have overstayed any means of a welcome.
If you'd take a peek outside of the Fox News medis world, you might get a whiff of what actually is going on in Iraq... not just what Bushie wants you to hear.

Odd how a reference to 1812 is made while at the same time dismissing the question as militaristic mischief.
OK.
I have one, too.

If England wouldn't have been in possession of one of history's greatest men, Churchill, what might have happened to the world?

You know, don't you, that there are more democrats than republicans in this country?
When are people like you going to even try to understand the Muslim culture we are dealing with (calling them "muzzies" is beyond ignorant). It's not about understanding the terrorists themselves. It's about understanding the people and countries we need to have on our side if we are going to reduce the threat. We're not going to make ourselves safe through military action alone. In fact if we are heavy handed, too quick to use military force, then we'll end up undermining what we are trying to accomplish. There are about 1.2 billion Muslims. Obviously some of them want to kill us. We need to get as many of the rest as we can on our side, working with us. Try giving that some thought.

The Muzzies? You're disgusting. And you have no idea what it means to be a Democrat. But you would never be one, because a Democrat would never refer to Muslims as Muzzies. We embrace peoples' differences.

Protecting our "homeland" should mean having our all of our National Guard here, not fighting a foreign war.
Is sounds like you're equating Democrats and Arab terrorists. Maybe there is something to the story (reported in the right wing publications) that detention camps are being planned for American political dissenters.

dianer: only 400 to 600 Iraqis have been allowed to immigrate to the US since 2003. The 10,000 you're referring to have been here longer; and they're mostly Christians who were being persecuted by Saddam. Look up Chaldeans if you want to learn something.

Check out this website. You are so right. The USA needs to wake up and smell the coffee. Our freedom train might be coming to an end. I pray not or I pray that I won't be here.
