War analogy strikes nerve in Vietnam By BEN STOCKING, Associated Press Writer
President Bush touched a nerve among Vietnamese when he invoked the Vietnam War in a speech warning that death and chaos will envelop Iraq if U.S. troops leave too quickly.
People in Vietnam, where opposition to the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq is strong, said Thursday that Bush drew the wrong conclusions from the long, bloody Southeast Asian conflict.
"Doesn't he realize that if the U.S. had stayed in Vietnam longer, they would have killed more people?" said Vu Huy Trieu of Hanoi, a veteran of the communist forces that fought American troops in Vietnam. "Nobody regrets that the Vietnam War wasn't prolonged except Bush."
He said U.S. troops could never have prevailed here. "Does he think the U.S. could have won if they had stayed longer? No way," Trieu said.

Here are the numbers:
1. According to Medicare's website, Medicare covers almost one seventh of the population.
2. To be able to do so, it requires 3% of the entire salaries, of every working person in the US.
3. To expand Medicare to cover everyone in the US, you take the rate (3%) and multiply by the 7 (to accomodate the other 6/7 of the population).
4. This means to fund Medicare for all, there needs to be a 21% tax added; a flat tax, the rich pays 3% now and will pay 21% later, so will the poor.

The result by category:
1. You're wealthy, you are going to pay more taxes.
2. You're middle class and currently have health insurance through your work: You just lost that option and pay more for lesser coverage
3. You're middle class and one of the 30 million people who wanted to risk not having coverage: U no longer get that choice.
4. You're one of the six million that couldn't afford health insurance. This plan helps U
5. You're on medicare now, you now pay 21%, not 3%

...who don't SEE the difference between an 'ILLEGAL' immigrant, and one that's trying to do things the RIGHT way?

What would you do if YOU - or your son or your daughter - wanted to marry a foreigner and bring them into the country to start a family, and the rest of the US citizens started to INSULT them with the most horrible words just because of hatred???

"Hatred ever kills, love never dies. Such is the vast difference between the two. What is obtained by love is retained for all time. What is obtained by hatred proves a burden in reality for it increases hatred."

- Mohandas 'Mahatma' Gandhi -

The fact that people in the United States don't want illegal immigrants doesn't mean they have to HATE the rest of the world.

Hatred spawned by ignorance is just plain wrong.

And YES, I'm a US citizen, and your insults are inconsequential to me.

Then is it considered legal for the US to just settle in any country it wants and bring it to democracy. Just only because its a world power. Is "being a world power" the only option thats qualifies a country to occupy another weak country. What if Iraq for example became a world power (i hope not) will it be considered quite natural if iraqi troops came to the US and settled there to make the US people turn to democracy. I think a lot of americans will scream and hate to think about it. So is being a world power something which qualifies a country to occupy another one or is Bush just playing around????

If you passed, and the man is unhappy about it,it can be done later, but if you intervene you leave the patient with no return,if unhappy.

Bush addressed a veterans association yesterday .

The world knows that the spoilt/arrogant /addicted son of a powerful / connected father did what most powerful/rich/connected fathers did during the draft and that was to use all their power ,usually with a wink and a nod and a third party, to get their loved ones safely out of harms way and into the National Guard .

The poor,un-connected,powerless of course had NO choice and tens of thousands were slaughtered in Vietnam.

While others had their guts blown apart and were forever traumatized by their Vietnam experiences, this vile Bush didn't even bother to show up for duty which of course there was NO duty.

My questions is simply, how on earth can these veterans even stand to be in the same room as this UN-PATRIOTIC ,DRAFT DODGING war monger who let others do HIS DYING .

My father was killed in France 5 days after D-Day and his remaining still alive veteran bodies and their descendants would puke if Bush dared show up.

the children in 1984. The government no longer has to police because the children are willing and able to do it for them. Don't you think Yahoo! should employ someone to read through the Q/A to determine what REALLY violates guidlines?? I think that we do a disservice to ourselves by acting as police. We are sensoring each other because we can....a frivolously might I add. Isnt it Yahoo!'s job to make sure the content of their site is kosher??

I have a 3 year old daughter and am separated from her father. The divorce will be final in January and am currently engaged to my childhood sweetheart who happens to be in the army. The wedding is planned for next May and he is stationed in Kentucky. I now live in NC, so its about a 10hour drive. Once married, I would like to move to Kentucky with my new husband. He loves my little girl and would like to eventually adopt her. Her real father doesn't see her but maybe once every month or two and is apparently into drugs, but I can't prove that. He would much rather party than spend time with his daughter. What do I do? Can I take her to Kentucky? I know that she would be much better off there and I wouldn't actually work, I would just stay at home with her. What can her father do to prevent me from moving?

What happened where if you didn't like someone smoking around you, you got up and moved?

What happened when you could say merry christmas and have christmas trees in places where you didn't have to worry about offending jewish people?

What happening to sucking it up when things didn't go your way?

What happened to being responsible and held accountable for your actions?

What happened to when a bully hit you, you eventually worked up the courage to knock him on his ***?

Why have the safety police of America overrun our lives and decided what we can and can't do even though we know the consequences of said action?

Why are so many lethargic and apathetic and always looking for a copout for one thing or another?

What happened to Americans?

Isn't it amazing how they bash Bush all the time but even when Clinton got caught with his OVAL in Monica's OFFICE, the Clintonites still fell down and worshipped him and snarled at anyone who had anything critical to say about him.

They still love him even though his incompetence led to the precise planning of September 11, 2001. (Yes, spineless libs, CLINTON should get just as much blame as Bush for the attacks that could have been avoided if either President took the time to study the intelligence.)

It has now been seven years since he has vacated the office and they still defend that scum to the death. When will lliberals admit that Slick Willie was not the perfect President they all think he is and that voting his semi-feminine husband into office will only worsten our problems in the US rather than improve them.

Reciently I heard it put this way... "Republicans want to be your daddy, they want to tell you what to do, who to be, and how to act... Democrats want to be your mommy, they want to feed you, care for you, make sure you feel good about yourself... Libertarians want to treat you like an adult." Interesting way to put it... what do you think?
