What many of us dont know, is that there is a refugee crisis going on in Southeast Asia. I dont want to elaborate too much on it, as it is all in the link, above. What you need to know, is that it is happening now, it is not being stopped, and it is not going to be stopped unless we take some action.

My question is this. While we all (well most of us, anyway) claim to have morals and ethics, how many of us has any real moral courage? Stand up for what we beleive in and try to make a difference? Please share your experiences, on how it was standing up for a cause you believed in, and share with us whatever difficulties you faced, that got in your way.

In further testament of our deranged tort system, Jeromy Jackson of West Virginia is suing McDonalds for $10 million because they put cheese on his Quarter Pounder With Cheese, even though he didn't want any.

Jackson claims to be allergic to cheese. According to the lawsuit, he "was only moments from death" after eating some cheeseburger.

Whether this parasite is laughed out of court remains to be seen. In 1992, a klutz named Stella Liebeck was awarded $3 million for spilling McDonalds coffee on herself.

Imagine how bad it will get if "the Breck Girl" John Edwards, patron saint of pathological trial lawyers, ever slithers his way into the White House. Capitalism will be sued out of existence

I ask because an Army Captain named Oliver Wendell Holmes did exactly that to Abraham Lincoln. He ended up becoming Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

But I suspect times are different now. What would happen today?

"A moral compass can only point you in the right direction. It can't make you go there.

Our (U.S.) culture preaches you shouldn't be ashamed of ANYTHING you do anymore, and, unfortunately the city is based on the principle, there is NO such thing as guilt.

Do whatever you want. We won't tell, so, without a conscience, there is NOTHING to stop you from killing somebody, and, evidently, you don't have to feel guilty about it....."

Hmmm can this REALLY be an explanation here?

If so, he should be on trial for the American deaths his misrepresentation has caused.
About the 8th paragraph that starts "By 1968, NVA morale was at it's lowest point ever"

Maybe if enough people read this, they may start to think and realize what their actions do FOR the enemy.

two years ago when i was 17 i was driving home from school when i rear ended someone (not major) who had stopped all of a sudden to take a left turn. the damages cost $500 to repair my end. i dont think it cost any more on her part. anyway, she had left to take a turn, it was a busy street, and i had too. say there was a police there and he had pursued action or she had complained and a witness was there. now if i agreed to pay her damages as well, would i still go to court and jail? or would i get off? thanks. btw i live in massachusetts

the girl who drove the car in front of me left to take the turn before i could even do anything, so i left too

And agree to give us the referendum we were promised in the Labour Party manifesto for the last general election.Spain's foreign minister, Miguel Angel Moratinos, now says the substance of the EU "reform treaty" is 98 per cent the same as that of the previous constitution. "The wrapping has been changed, but not the content"

The Constitution is quite clear on this issue, "nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."

So what is my compensation for taking my money in a progressive tax system for the benefit of others and no compensation for me.

No where in the Constitution does it say they government can trump my Fifth Amendment rights for the benefit of others, that would of course make the 16th Amendment unconstitutional.

The validity of the 16th has never gone through the court. Why not? Don't you want to know that it is legal to steal others money?

According to www.payscale.com, a lawyer averages $62,895 a year in his first four years working. All this with no risk to life or limb.

Enlisted soldier makes 26 to 30 thousand. They have a little more risk.

Don't you think that such risk and the service you claim to value so highly should be worth at least $60,000 a year?

When will any candidate, Democrat or Republican, offer to pay these poor abused soldiers even a fraction of what they are worth?

And please don't come back with pay numbers that include the value of all of those lovely camo uniforms and green t-shirts that the troops get for "free".

Costs of burial and prosthesis should not be calculated in either.

Second question, how much would you pay them?

Note, I am not in the military nor do I have any immediate family in the military at this time.

I don't get it. Why do conservative promote death to those who could be saved and increased health treatment costs to those who wait? That is the current system.

Yesterday night he just lost it. He has lots of issues with his parents. They abused him and used to leave him with a man who raped him. Even when they found out, they didn't get help for him. They just said he needs to get over it and that because he is depressed he should go live in a permanent home for adults(his mom is crazy-they dont't even have those here anymore!). But he can't get over it-you wouldn't believe all the horrible stuff that happened during his childhood!!! He is 20 now and anger has built up to a high degree.

So last night he finally blew up. His mom said some horrible things to him and he hit her and broke her back car window. Later that night the police found him and arrested him.

I am so scared. I know what he did was wrong but..... I can hardly blame him. And my baby girl and I need him so badly. I do not know how to live without him! He is a wonderful father and boyfriend... :( I am just terrified of what will happen to him.
