Is a Resource Officer considered a school employee??

Is a Resource Officer/Liaison Officer emloyed by the school or still the city during the school year. I know that the school gives them their revues and they keep the same hours as the school. But, who do they work for during the school year?

I'm talking about the RSO that is in school all day. RSO has the same breaks as the school does. There full time job is at the school.

Every SRO I know is employed by the police department. They are assigned to the school as their sector, or area to patrol.

I am an RSO for a school district in my city. I am under contract with the School district, but am a Peace Officer employed by the city? Make sense?

I'm not serving as a police officer for the city per say, but am moonlighting as a RSO for the school. I maintain all police powers and carry a gun and handcuffs and wear the city's uniform (as fully authorized). I am an officer that is solely there to maintain good order and discipline at the school so the short manned beat officers aren't there all day dealing with juvenile delinquents.

I work it on my days off. I work for the city 4 days a week and the school 2 days.

They are still employed by the Police Department.. doing the school functions are just part of that assignned Police Officers duties as the Resource Officer.
