I don't get it. Why do conservative promote death to those who could be saved and increased health treatment costs to those who wait? That is the current system.

Yeah and when I was working in healthcare the conservative health care recipients were constantly the ones complaining. They didn't want to have to pay their part of anything. When its their time, they are lining up for that medicare and social security and they'll make sure they get every penny they are entitled to in the same breath that they are bad mouthing social programs for the poor.

The cost of treatments comes from the cost of insurance.

Why is insurance so high? Frivolous lawsuits.

Who has generally blocked any attempted to stop frivolous law suits? Liberal politicians.

Want costs to go down, ban frivolous lawsuits, like the ones John Edwards made his fortune on.

As for your statement, I am a conservative and I have no problem with everyone having access to medical care.

My problem is I actually work hard and well I don't see the benefit of paying out 50% of the money I earned to pay for a program thats is a) already breoken and b) anyone one who does not contribute too can use.

Do YOU see logic in that?

As it is I lose almost 30% in taxes, that is 30 cents of every dollar. thats $4.5 dollars every hour. and that is $36 dollars a day. I have just paid the govenment.... in a 2 week period thats $360. in a month $720! thats more than I pay in rent a month!

but you want me to pay out 7.5 an hour, $60 a day, $600 a paycheck and $1200 a month to pay for anyone, including people who dont contribute, to use a system that will already be broken to start with?!?!?!?!

How much exactly will you be contributing to this Utopian system? I mean if you can afford to survive on half your pay check then you are doing better than I am, because I still come up short after rent and bills, and I own nothing!

Want a better health care system? Help stop frivilous lawsuits, help reduce insurance costs and fix the system we have now.

Dumping more money in to something that is broken is not the answer.

The problem is that the drug companies and the health industry in general are making huge amounts of money. They are lobbying against any control over the costs of drugs and health care. Individuals have no control over this and are slaves to the whole network. Insurance companies, which should be the main control over sky rocketing costs, are either part of HMO's or invested heavily in the health industry itself...There could be a basic plan everyone could be protected...but it would mean that all the great gadgets that we all pay for even if we don't use them...would need to eliminated and kept for a higher tier of people able to pay for it. Until we can have a normal, reasonable type of Health care for all and a "if you can afford it and want to live forever" plan for the rich...there will be people without care. for some things there are no cures and the Health industry makes more from treating them and having the gadgets to do so than anything else

Health insurance is not a right, but the government needs to protect us from groups that are in our wallets

Everyone has access even us poor folks. Some people that are eligible for programs do not take advantage of them and others who have incomes choose not to buy insurance because the premiums in many states are too high due to STATE IMPOSED mandates. Go to a socialized medicine country and see ow they have to wait.
We dont want people turned away or denied access. We do not want the government running the system.

I think it's horrible that I have to put in the time obtaining a job with health insurance benefits, pay into it for me and my family, and then be forced to pay for other americans who could have taken the same responsible steps I took, but spent the money in a different way. It's a free country, and citizens are free to take their chances with their health. When they gamble wrong, at least they had the freedom to gamble wrong.

Ive searched the Constitution from end to end and can t find
a single clause stating a right to health care. And i don t want to be taxed any more than i am now.let me clarify that i don t have h/c insurance. If i get hurt or injured i pay the bill and go on.I have never been turned away for services.
I don t want the government holding a gun to my head to
pay for those who have made life choices to smoke, drink
or do drugs and have destroyed their bodies.Sorry but that's the way i feel and i got medical problems of my own.i manage to get by, by the grace of god.

Consider this -- if someone does not want to participate in a universal health care system, what is the benefit to them of the govt taking their money and spending it in (yet another) way the person doesn't want for something they'll never use?

I'm all for VOLUNTARY universal health care -- if someone wants to be covered, they pay into the system, and they are covered. I oppose any MANDATORY program that forces people to pay regardless of whether they want to or not.

And don't forget -- one of the Republican front-runners led the charge in Massachussettes to force everyone to have medical insurance, whether they wanted it or not. Romney introduced the state law making health coverage mandatory, and anyone who refused to participate was subject to criminal penalties.

The problem is that many conservatives do not believe in giving back to the system that they have profited by.

Upper middle class and wealthy Americans either have jobs that provide health care, or can afford to pay medical costs; poor people, lower and middle class people can't.

Health care for my family costs approximately $12,000.00 a year, not including co-payments. Can anyone not making a substantial income afford to have $12,000.00 a year taken from his/her check?

They don't. They (generally speaking) think it's horrible that they have to pay for something which they don't have a garuntee they'll benefit from.

Trying to persaude a conservative to pay for something for the good of society is like trying to get blood out of a stone.

who exactly does not have access to health care?

EVERYONE IN THE COUNTRY HAS ACCESS TO IT!!

Children with parent's who earn up to 4 times the poverty level (depending on the state) even get it for free!

Quit asking someone else to pay for your health care, and start making smart choices if health care coverage is so important to you.
