I can remember politics back to the late 60's and it seems that when ever either of the parties held the house, senate and white house all kind of things happened. Conflicts, rights eroded and defecits increased. These things happened even when they were split up but things really get railroaded through other wise.

Also if you want to say which group is worst remember we left the gold standard in 71 so inflation has ragged. Example my dad bought a house in 1961 for $9.995.00 and sold it thirty years later for almost $120,000.00. And Vietnam was President Johnson's and the dems tar baby.

But since I'm a independant say what ever you like.

At least 64 U.S. troops have died this month, a relatively low number compared with American death tolls of more than 100 for the previous three months, according to an Associated Press tally based on military statements.

I was in Poli Sci and the prof mentioned something that sounded like "sailing" issue, and he said it's an issue that mostly everybody has on opinion on, like the war in iraq, abortion, etc. Can anybody tell me if I'm spelling that right?

Although I'm a young liberal, I'll be registering as a Republican in order to vote for Ron Paul in the primaries. His non-interventionist foreign policy echo my beliefs and he is adamantly against illegal immigration. Wants to eliminate the welfare state, ban in-state tuition for illegals, eradicate birth right citizenship, build a fence, and make all of them move out through attrition.

I have a question about posting pictures on the internet, and I've had a fight with someone about it.
On a forum that I belong to, there is a picture posting thread where you are supposed to post your picture.
One of the members is under 18 and posted a picture of him AND his girlfriend, without the permission of the girl.
I confronted him to tell him that you need the permission of the person to get their picture posted.
He gave the quick and easy answer and said that it was "His" girlfriend, and he can do whatever he wants with the picture.
He then preceded to call me stupid.
I hope that you guys can help me clear this up.
Thanks.

My thirteen year old son's mother left in the spring to be with her boyfriend and I now have custody of our son. When she left she said she was going to come down every other weekend to see him. I feel she is now wanting me to bring him halfway on Friday and then pick him up half way on Sunday. This would be ten hours of travel for me every other weekend. I have another small child and have had back problems/surgery in my history and do get back pain when I drive long distance. Can the court make me do this? I feel I am taking care of my son and provide a home, she left and has no other children so she should do the driving. Does anyone know what the law would say? We live in Vermont.

My brother is building a new home on his property. His old one is literally falling down and won't last much longer. When he went to get a permit to put in a new septic tank (not allowed to use the old one), he was told he need to have some scientist perform some tests because the previous owner had dug out some of the bank beside the house. He paid over $500 dollars to have this done. The scientists told him they thought there would not be a problem but would not give an official OK. He is now being told he needs another scientist from Nashville to come in and do some tests. This will cost him another $500 to $1000 with no guarantee of results. My brother lives in southeast TN and is very poor. All he wants is a plan simple safe place for his family to live but he seems to be getting the run around. What can he do?

The 2nd amendment refers to "the right of THE people" (a group) to keep and bare arms, not to 'the right of people' (individuals)....it refers to the right of the States as a way to protect themselves from the new power of a federal goverment. People did not think of themselves as Americans then, they thought of themselves as New Yorkers or Virginians, Carolinians... etc.

I went to my county courthouse today thinking that I could get a copy of previous sales agreements/contracts of people who have owned my home before me. Unfortunately, all they have are copies of deeds and mortgages. My problem is that I need to know who was living in my house when there was a fire here, and if the previous owner (before me) knew about it, because I was not told about it myself. Do you know of any place I can get this information?? I have no problem paying for it. I just can't seem to get what I need. If it's any help, I live in Ocean County, NJ - Toms River to be exact.
Thanks so much!!

My friend has been staying internationally for a few years. He found out that he has a warrant in a state he use to live in. He has a daughter there but he pays child support. There is a false accusation that he has not paid for over 6 months. He called a lawyer and they told him he has a 5,000 cash bond. And he must appear in court in person to take care of the warrant. Will he be arrested at the airport and go to jail if he comes back to the US without legal representation for his case?

How could we have done it all differently up until today?

Assuming hindsight is 20/20. I'm not looking for insults or trying to insult, I'm looking for opinions on how we could have done it all differently.

Personally i haven't fallen victim to one but they have tried to get me multiple times through continuous emails and a few attempts scamming me on ebay (recently they tried twice to get me to ship a PS3 to a Nigerian address by sending me fake emails claiming that i had recieved a paypal payment - I'm sure they fooled alot of people with them).

20/20 recently did a study - and found over 100 million dollars had been successfully stolen over the last year.

Should the US quit sending aid to Nigeria until their government takes a more serious approach?

Does our government need stricter laws or more focus on enforcement?

Should Americans simply quit buying Nigerian products or going there on vacation?

What do you think is the best approach?
