My friend has been staying internationally for a few years. He found out that he has a warrant in a state he use to live in. He has a daughter there but he pays child support. There is a false accusation that he has not paid for over 6 months. He called a lawyer and they told him he has a 5,000 cash bond. And he must appear in court in person to take care of the warrant. Will he be arrested at the airport and go to jail if he comes back to the US without legal representation for his case?

If he has been making payments, the issue should be resolved very quickly. He should gather up any indication he made the payments (canceled checks, money order stubs etc)

Unlikely. Its not as though hes an international jewel thief or something. He should make arrangements with the local law officials - let them know he's coming back to take care of this - and then do so. He should be fine.

Look for the names of agency that handles child support and ask your friend for proof since you never want to play with money.

Get a lawyer.

Good luck.

My son ended with a Involuntary Termination because of a flagrant lie.

I will not mention his name due to fear of retribution from his former work place.

We will pray for everyone including his accusers.

He will have to prove he has been paying the child support, has he contacted the mother and asked her for help?
