I know it is hard to define “evil”, so I will put it this way:

You find a jinni, and he gives you a special weapon, which would allow you to go back in time and magically end one of the following regimes.
Base your decisions ONLY ON MORAL reasons, not strategic or political.
Which one would you want to take out from the list:

Nazi Germany / Hitler
The Khmer Rouge / Pol Pot
USSR / Stalin
Afghanistan / Taliban
The DPRK (North Korea) / the Kim family
PRC / Mao
Iraq / Saddam
Imperial Japan / Emperor Hirohito

And why?

Ya, I know it is a silly question, but have fun with it.

The survey released today notes that there is a giant gap between whites and black and hispanic prisoners. In some cases the number of black inmates is 5 times the number of whites while hispanics are jailed at almost twice the number as whites. The numbers are there, but does that mean there is a bias among law makers, police, and judges? Is it a sort of rite of passage for young blacks and hispanics to go to jail, or commit crimes (see Goodfellas)? Your insightful thoughts and comments are welcome.

I thought a full stop was just momentary but Lynnwood seems to have a 3 second rule as the traffic camera shoots a picture when you get to the intersection then another one 3 seconds later and if you moved you are deemed to have not made a full stop. I cannot find this in the traffic law however. I also wonder if this is enforced on bus drivers and police who seem to make tne same short stop ( less than full second ) as most drivers do.

Don't you feel scared by the fact that everyone could come and shoot you anytime?
Dont you think that punishing one person (eg:a killer) by death is just some kind of revenge which is not what a state should do?
I ask you this because I love America but I'm scared by these two things

ps:I'm European

There is legislation in the Congress to accomplish this, but it appears the Democratic leadership was trying to defeat it.

What say you?

If you are going to say that blacks are more likely to become incarcerated than whites, then is it only fair to state in the report how blacks are much more likely to commit crimes?

Blacks as a % of their population are much more likely to commit a crime than whites.

As an example, say that blacks are 10% of the population, but 30% of the criminals. These numbers are only for explanation and may or may not be true.

Then, blacks are 3 times more likely to be in jail simply because they commit more crimes per 100,000.

Where is this in the report? I cannot see it.

How about what types of crimes? Violent crimes are almost mandatory jail time, while petty crimes are generally not.

Is it any wonder why conservatives like myself do not pay attention to the press when they completely distort the story by leaving out relevant facts.

This is a grisly hypothetical - I sincerely hope and pray it never happens. But let's assume, for this question only, that it has. Terrorists have succeeded in "nuking" one or more US cities.

I'm not really asking what should take place in response as much as what do you think WOULD happen, in terms of law enforcement and military response, especially in our country.

The whole issue gives me the willies. But have at it anyway. Thanks.

I got this from a local radio station:

The Speech George W. Bush SHOULD give:
Thursday 05-17-2007 11:31am
Normally, I start these things out by saying “My Fellow Americans.” Not doing it this time. If the polls are any indication, I don’t know who more than half of you are anymore. I do know something terrible has happened, and that you’re really not fellow Americans any longer.

I’ll cut right to the chase here: I quit. Now before anyone gets all in a lather about me quitting to avoid impeachment, or to avoid prosecution or something, let me assure you: there’s been no breaking of laws or impeachable offenses in this office.

The reason I’m quitting is simple. I’m fed up with you people.

I’m fed up because you have no understanding of what’s really going on in the world. Or of what’s going on in this once-great nation of ours. And the majority of you are too lazy to do your homework and figure it out...........

It's amazing, but I entered college as a farily liberal person. Education changed me. I understand Consrvatism is not for everyone, but it is the best choice for me. I believe in being self reliant. With my views where else could I go?

I am Pro Life, I think marriage should be between a man & a woman, I think no american should be taxed by the US government at a rate higher than 33%, I beleive in self reliance and giving to charity not being over taxed and creating a giant Nanny State, I believe the US has no choice but to police the World because if we did not who would?

I don't think our founders were conservatives or liberals. I do know this - no where did our founders advocate the socialist policies found on the left. They detested high taxes. I am sure they would be in favor of americans keeping the majority of the income that they earn. Today's democrat party always raises taxes and never cuts them. Our founders were definatley not democrats!

I am curious about this, really. A visit to the Democratic Underground website convinced me that there are those who take this possibility seriously.

I do not. But I'm curious as to who does, and also as to what others think of those people. Thanks.

Yet the two candidates with the most experience, best legislative and ethical records and have actual platform's with actual plans of action are hardly noticed.

Joe Biden is by far the best DNC candidate if based on substance and qaulifications
